"You were everything in my eyes, but I was just another person in yours."
I walk slowly out of the forest, knowing I am unable to walk any faster. I see Percy still waiting for me, pacing until he finally noticed me. He sighs before rushing over to me, checking to make sure I'm not hurt.
"Are you alright?" I nod slightly "I think I'm good, just tired." He shakes his head an offers me his arm to keep me from falling.
It was only a moment of silence before Percy spoke "what happened?" I sigh knowing he won't stop until he gets his answer.
"I was watching the class for Lupin and Snape came and just made me so angry..." I stopped, knowing by how much my voice was wavering I would cry if I continued. He stopped our movements and leaned down so I would see his face.
"Amelia, calm down. You are fine you didn't hurt anybody, and nobody had seen. This was going to happen eventually, but you won't have to go through this alone." I nodded my head before giving him a brief hug and continued our way to the common room.
When we made it close to the door all of the students from our house were surrounding the entrance. Certainly not everyone has forgotten the password. We made our way through the students with Percy occasionally yelling at the younger students to move.
By the time we made it to the front the professors just made it, but I was shocked at the sight.
The fat lady was gone, and what replaced her were three long stretch marks. Someone or something was trying to get in, and they weren't happy with their result.
Albus Dumbledore along with McGonagall, Snape, and Lupin were able to get in front and see the damage. "What happened?"Snape demanded at us. I didn't risk speaking to him while Percy replied for both of us "we were just on our way to the common room when we seen all of the students outside."
The students were talking to themselves while Dumbledore was deep in thought until one of the ghost came towards us. "That poor lady hasn't spoken to anyone. That nasty Sirius Black."
*
All of the students were made to sleep in the great hall. The tables all gone and sleeping bags in their place. Percy and I were the only ones up, seeing as we were the heads and had to watch over the students.
Most of them were asleep by now a few talking but we put them to sleep quickly. I was waiting patiently for the professors return until I heard shuffling in the hallway. "Percy" I hissed quietly. "What?" I pointed to the door "someone's out there and I don't think it's the professors."
He nodded before following me out the doors. He went left while I went right, not straying too far away from the students. I checked all the halls closest to us before making my way back to Percy. I see him down the hallway turned to the side looking forward, but that's not what stops me in my tracks.
A black dog is a few feet away from him, ready to pounce. "Percy!" He looks at me before turning to his left and seeing the dog. I know instantly it's no dog though, it's Sirius Black.
His moves are instant, growling lowly and getting in a crouch before jumping off it hind legs. I run forwards and jumping as well, but I'm no longer a person. I change to my Animagus form just before crashing head on into the dog.
I get on my legs quickly and get in front of Percy who is now crouched down. My brown wolf is a foot taller than the dog giving me an easy advantage as I growl darkly at him.
He looks taken aback before his eyes soften completely, with an almost longing look in his eyes. He looks at me for one more moment before running off.
With my now advanced hearing I hear the sounds of rushing footsteps while I quickly change back. Percy is by my side in a minute giving me a look of disapproval, but it doesn't faze me.
The professors see us before rushing to our sides. "Oh dear, what happened" I hear McGonagall's worried voice ask. I try to stand up only to fall back down and have Percy catch me quickly.
I look down to see three scratch marks on my side, he must've managed to scratch me when we collided. "Percy and I heard noises outside and we went to check it out. When Percy wasn't looking a dog was about to pounce but I pushed him away. I guess he scratched me before I moved out of his reach."
They all look to me worriedly before Dumbledore turns to Remus "would you mind taking her to the hospital wing Remus, Hagrid will take your place with the search."
He nods before gently grabbing me out of Percy's grip. Percy seems hesitant but complies and let's me go, looking at me one last time before we all leave.
"We must stop seeing each other like this." I chuckle lightly seeing as this always happens. "But I'm starting to like our walks to the hospital wing" I say sarcastically.
He shakes his head before turning serious. "I heard what happened today" I nod "I was wondering when you would bring that up. And are you feeling better?"
He nods "I'm doing better, but I would like to asked what happened." He looks at me expectantly "it was only ten minutes until the class was over. Everything was going fairly well and they were doing a worksheet quietly.
Snape came and said how the class should be taught by someone who has actual experience. And I told the only thing he would teach them is his biased opinion on werewolves."
I see Remus tense slightly at the word werewolf "what do you mean by biased?" I look at him like its obvious "it's not like they chose the life. And kept on insinuating that the were monsters and there not. A monster isn't based on what you are, no matter how much people think it I will never believe they are such until they purposely hurt me in human form." By the time I finished my ranting I noticed we had stopped.
I look to Remus to see him standing there and looking at me with an unknown emotion. And for the first time I had seen Remus give me a genuine smile "I couldn't agree more, miss Stryker."
I return the smile "what happened to calling me Amelia?"
"My apologies Amelia" he says emphasizing my name, making me giggle.
We make it the the hospital wing and I'm about to thank him when I see something that makes me stop in my tracks. Because in in his jacket pocket I see something I'm all too familiar with.
A vial of wolfsbane potion.
