Dear Amelia,
I apologize for not spending time with you like usual. My duties as head boy has taken up most of my time and the rest of my time has been spent Studying.

I hope you will let me make it up to you by being my date to the dance. Usually I wouldn't ask you to go because I know you wouldn't want to and neither do I. But my mother said I had to and as you know, there is no denying my mother.

So instead of being bored the entire time, why not spend it with my best friend? Please write back whenever you can.

        Your best friend,
               Percy

Well it's about time he starts talking to me. I smile at the thought of Molly yelling at him because he wouldn't want to go. That woman is relentless.

I write a quick reply, telling him I would go with him but he owes me one.

He doesn't have to know I was planning on going.

When I had finished writing the letter Ember walks in. We were going to go to hogsmead this morning and find out dresses. She had agreed to let me pick the dress but she had to be present when I bought it.

"You ready?" I nod and grab my money. This day should be eventful.
*
We make our first stop to a little boutique near honey dukes. I've always liked this place. It had beautiful dresses but they were casual and decently priced. Not that Ember and I had to worry about money.

Her eyes went straight a green dress that was tight in the waist but flowed out nicely.

It had taken me a little longer but my eyes soon found the perfect dress. It was blue with long sleeves and covered in a beautiful lace that flowed to the ground.

I looked to Ember, who nodded excitedly at the dress. We quickly paid for the dresses and went on our way when we seen Draco harassing Ron and Hermione.

"That won't end well" I heard Ember say. I nodded "come on" we both walked towards the third years.

Draco was in mid sentence when I interrupted "and what do we have here?"  They all turned to look at me.

Crab and Goyle backed away slightly before lowering their heads, Draco stayed still. "I asked a question Draco, and I expect to be answered."

Draco says nothing but Ron butts in "they were being mean to Hermione." I look to her, raising my eyebrow slightly to ask her if it was true. She nodded "Draco, why would you be rude to Hermione. If anything you should be taking notes, she is the brightest witch of your generation. I thought Narcrissa taught you better than that."

"But she's a mud-" I silence him, giving a hard glare. "Don't even think of finishing that sentence Draco. And as punishment I will be taking fifteen points from slytherin."

"But-"

"Would you like me to make it twenty?" He says nothing "no go on, and tell your mother I will only be spending a few hours on Christmas Eve."

He nods before leaving. Ember smirks at me before we both turn to the duo. "That was wicked! How did you get him to do that?"

I chuckle at Ron's enthusiasm "as a Pureblood we are taught to respect older generations. Also with me being from an old bloodline gains me more respect than others."

I turn to Hermione "I apologize for what he said. You are a very bright witch for your age and you did that  one your own, regardless of your blood."

She nodded before smiling "thank you."

"You are welcome Hermione" I said and made my way to honey dukes along with Ember. "That was badass, what you did."

I chuckle at her words "all I did was give Draco a price of my mind."

She was about to speak but we see professor McGonagall rushing towards us "Miss Stryker I have some business to discuss with you. Do you mind walking with me, alone." She looks to Ember.

Ember and I exchange a glance "go on, I be back at the castle in a little bit."

When we had gotten to hogshead we were now accompanied by Hagrid, some man I didn't know of, and the minister of magic. What have I gotten myself into.

We had I walked up the stairs and into a room with several chairs and a table in the middle.

I took a seat farthest from everyone and looked to the adults. "May I ask why I am here?" The minister is the first to speak "do you know of a man named Sirius Black?"

I nod "of course, but what does that have to do with me? By the time he went to Azkaban I was staring my first year at Hogwarts."

The unknown man then reaches for a piece of paper from his suitcase. He adjust his glasses before reading.

"Here it is set forth, the last  Will and testament of Sirius Orion Black. First to Amelia Stryker, I would like to give my house 12 Grimmauld Place. And if by any reason Harry Potter is under my care, she will now be the rightful guardian of Harry James Potter."

I don't move, I'm frozen at the knew information that was just given to me. But with being related to some of the best liars, my face is hard a stone. Not giving away anything.

How is that possible? How can Sirius Black do that?"

They all exchange a glance towards one another before the minister decides to speak up. "Before we can answer that question, we to you to promise us that you will not tell Harry this information. You can only tell him of your new status towards him."

I look at everyone in the room, they all share looks of pity. I nod "Sirius Black is Harry's godfather."

"...what?" I finally manage to breath out. Sirius Black was their friend, and he betrayed them? How could someone do that?

James Potter had given him his trust to become a godfather and this is how he repays him? By giving his location to Voldemort!

"The minute James and Lilly Potter were killed, he was legally Harry's guardian. That is until he was captured. We had gotten his Will to see who would be his rightful guardian. Obviously we couldn't bestow Harry to you at that age. So we waited until you were of age."

"Why would he give him to me though? I didn't even know him, and he said me directly." I seen professor McGonagall and Hagrid put their heads down in shame, like they were keeping something from me.

"It is still unknown as to why he has done so, but it is done. Now the question remains, will you be taking custody of Harry?"

That was simple, of course I would. I had heard the horror stories of his life with the Durlsey's. He was a bright and kind kid, and he deserved so much more.

But how was I going to tell him. Would I tell him of his relations with the notorious Sirius Black who was at this minute trying to kill him?

He's only a child, he shouldn't have to go through this. But he needs to know what is going on. If the prophecy is true and he is the one to defeat him once and for all, he needs to be prepared for the secrets to come.

"By the time I am graduated, Harry Potter will be living with me back in America."
