Being a Pureblood, you get many advantages in life. People will look at you with more respect. You won't be discriminated to the harshness of this world. You have many jobs opportunities in your future. And you a likely to spend the rest of your life without going into debt.
But I would give anything to have this title stripped. I hate it with a burning passion. Pureblood's are the ones who put muggleborns in danger during the wizard wars. Pureblood's are the ones who forced half breeds to hide in the shadows.
Pureblood's have corrupted the magical world and everyone lets them get away with it. Why? Because we are the 'better of the race.'
The mere thought of what today holds sends bile up my throat. Every noble Pureblood in one room for Christmas dinner. A night of hell if you ask me.
I am required to go, being the last of the Stryker bloodline makes me very important. Each family throws their first born my way in hopes of gaining the most noble family in their family tree. Since I'm now emancipated they can't arrange a marriage unless I comply.
They treat me like a prize you win in a game. And I hope nobody wins.
It had taken me an two hours to get ready. From curling my hair to perfection to accessorizing my dress with the most glamorous jewels in my possession. I look at my reflection and look at what I have been forced to become.
The girl in front of me was the perfect definition of a Pureblood. What I need to be in front of my 'family.' My real family was Percy and the other Weasley's. I didn't have to hide my true self with them. I could forget my strict manners and have a good time. But that would have to wait into tomorrow.
Tonight I have to endure the life in the snakes pit.

It was only a moment before my eyes were on the manor in front of me. Because I was of age I could now preform magic as I wished. It was so much easier than using the floo network.I made my way to the door with Athena on my shoulder. I look to her and smile slightly "let's get this over with." She squawks quietly and nudges her head to mine. I stand up straight with my face wiped clean from emotion before knocking on the door.
It was only a moment when until the door is opened by their house elf. The timid female opened the door slightly before fully opening it after seeing it was me. "Lady Amelia, may I take your coat?"
I smile and unbutton my black pea coat. "Yes, thank you Minnie. Would you mind telling me where the others are?" She grabs my coat and folds it neatly before leading me to what I assume to be the library.
"Yes, they are in the library. The Carrow family and the Flint family have arrived, the others should be here soon." I held the urge to roll my eyes. If the Flints were here it meant Marcus was here. I had never like the man, he annoyed me to no end.
Once we had got to the door Minnie opened it and stopped just before entering to get everyone's attention. "Lady Amelia Stryker has arrived."
Lucius sent his cold gaze to me before looking to Minnie. She coward slightly and left as quick as she could. He walked to me with a fake smile and grabbed my hand before kissing it.
"It's a pleasure to have you here Amelia." I nod "it's a pleasure to be here Lucius. I hope I'm not too early, America is a long way and I wanted to make it here at a reasonable hour."
"You are welcome at any hour. Please join me with the others." He then led me to the other adults.
Even when I was under age, ever since I was emancipated I had set with the adults. I had thought because I was the last member of my bloodline, but they had always given me special attention.
Lucius took his place beside Narcrissa on the couch and the Flint family set together on the other couch. Alecto and her brother Amycus Carrow set in the two chairs on the sides of the couches.
I took my place at the chair in front of the others, crossing my legs as I look at everyone in the room. Alecto and Amycus looked peaceful but kept their faces in a similar sneer that could make anyone cower away. With their known past as death eaters most would keep away from them. But I have grown used to being in the pretense of them.
The Flint family held a professional stance and stared at you with an emotionless look. Except for Marcus, he stared at me like I was his new toy. I felt as if at any moment he would grab me and claim me as his.
The mere thought sent a shiver down my spine.
"So Amelia" Lucius starts "Alecto tells me you have been helping Remus Lupin with his classes." I spare a glance to her before nodding "she is correct."
"Can he not teach a class by himself? Surely if he deserved the job he wouldn't need help, would he?" The accusations fill me with anger but my face remains the same. I needed to stand up for him, but I couldn't make them suspicious of my care for the half blood. I would be forced under the care of the Malfoy's before I could blink.
"I don't think it was because he wasn't capable of teaching, but more so because I hadn't taken the class myself. So I would be better prepared for NEWTs."
"And what have you decided to do after taking them?" Narcrissa asks, effectively changing the subject. "I'm thinking of working for the ministry. Maybe as an Auror or a hit witch."
Marcus's father smiles "you would do fine work there. Maybe you can put those halfbreeds where they rightfully belong!" My body tenses slightly but it goes unnoticed. I turn and look to the under aged guest. They had their full attention on our conversation.
"Maybe we shouldn't speak of this topic with this many young ears listening in, they are only children. And we wouldn't want them getting in trouble for repeating such things at school." The mothers were quick to agree.
It wasn't much longer before more guest had arrived and the attention was finally turned away from me. I had kept conversation short, only adding a side comment here and there.
After dinner Narcrissa insisted I stay the night, saying it was too late to go back home. I wanted desperately to leave but eventually complied and proceeded to lock myself the the guest room for the night.
It only made me more excited to go to the Weasley's tomorrow.
