We're Alright Though [Trigger Warning:self-harm And Drinking.] [Ashley Purdy]

Bouncey Castles and Alien socks.

"Amethyst hurry up!! We're gonna be late!"

"Calm your shit Coma!!" I yell back. I hear Cc laugh. I smile and grab my mascara. Today is Jake's 30th birthday and we are throwing him a surprise party. I unscrew the top of the mascara and begin to put it on, only poking my eye twice.

I finish with that and grab my eye liner pencil. Pulling on my lower eyelid I apply a good amount to my water line. Right as Im moving onto my other one Cc pushes the door open making me jump and smear my eyeliner all over my cheek.

I huff and turn around slowley. He bursts into a fit of laughter. "Nice makeup rocky." He says in between breaths. I laugh and hit him. I turn back around and begin to remove my eyeliner and redo my foundation. "You aren't wearing that, are you?" Cc asks gesturing to the black and red onesie covering my body.

I look down. "Shit. No. Could you go find something for me?" I ask, finishing my eyeliner. He nods and walks out of the bathroom. I put the eyeliner down and grab my phone to text Payton.

Me: hey. You can come over now.

Payton:kk

Me: c u soon

I shut my phone off and walk out. I walk over to Cc who is holding high waisted, black, ripped shorts and a white, cropped shirt that says 'you are my favorite human'. I smile and take it from him. I skip towards my dresser and grab a bra and head back to the bathroom. Shutting the door I strip down and pull on the outfit.

I smile and the shirt and open the door. I step out and walk back over to my dresser. I hear a knock at the door while im rummaging through my drawers for a flannel. "Could you get that C?" "Yup." He says hopping up and walking to the door.

He opens it to reveal a very done up Payton. I look up at her raising my eyebrow. "Hey." She says walking in and flopping down on my bed. "Hey, you look nice...but why are you so...'prettyfied'?" I ask grabbing a flannel and tying it around my waist. She laughs. "Is that even a word?" Cc asks putting his boots on.

"It is now." I say smiling. I look back at Payton. She's gone deep red. "No reason..I just felt like it." I nod my head. "Uh huh..ok.." Cc laughs. I walk over and grab some vans with alien socks and a beanie. I put on my shoes, socks and beanie. Standing up I look at them. "Is this good?" I ask, spinning around.

"I like it but I think it's missing something.." Payton says. Cc nods. "Yeah." I chew my bottom lip as I think. Payton stands up and grabs a pair of sun glasses off my nightstand and hands them to me. I put them on and she rearranges my hair.

I swat her hands away and we laugh. "There." She says. I smile and walk over to the full length mirror on the other side of the room. I stare at my outfit and nod. "I like it." Cc smiles and gets up grabbing his keys. "Ok. We should get going." He says as he walks towards the door.

I smile and grab my bag. We head out of the room and down to the front desk. "Did Emma go with Andy?" Payton asks, fiddling with her bracelets. "Yeah. They left earlier to get some supplies." She nods.

We get to the front desk and they give us our bands to leave. When we're walking out I hear someone yell after me. I turn around and see a familiar faces coming towards me. I smile as Calum and Luke hug me. "Hey!" They say together. "Hey. What are you guys doing here?" "Helping Michael pack for tour."

I nod. "Oh..ok. Ugh when do you guys leave?" "Tomorrow." Calum says happily. I smile. "Cool. Well I have a party to ge-" "holy shit..." Luke says, his jaw drops as does Calum's. I follow their stares and look at Cc. I laugh. "You..you're Christian Coma..." Calum says. He laughs.

"Uhhh, yeah. You guys are Calum and Luke from 5 seconds of summer right?" They nod. "Well we have to go but maybe you guys can hang out later?" They nod and say good bye. They walk back and I see Cc staring at Calum. I elbow him. He laughs and we get in the car. Turning on car we blast Motley Crue all they way to Ella's house.

When we got to Ella's house we only had half an hour to set everything up. We pulled into the garage and I jumped out of the car. I ran inside and looked around for Ella. "Elllllllaaaaaaa!!!!" I yelled and hear something fall in the kitchen. I walk towards the kitchen to see Ella rushing to finish the cake.

I smile at her. She looks at me. "Hey sweetheart!" She says kissing my cheek. I smile. "Hey." I met Ella a while ago. She's awesome and treats me like a daughter. "You need help with anything?" She nods as she does the finishing touches on the cake.

"Yes. We still have to set up the bouncey castle thingy and set up the tables and we hav-" "Ella." I say grabbing her shoulders. She looks so stressed. "Calm down we'll get it done ok?" She nods and smiles.

"Ok. The guys are out back. I nod and hug her. " oh and Amethyst?" She says. I turn. "Nice socks. " she laughs. I look down and wink at her. I walk outside to see Ashley, Andy, and Jinxx trying to decorate the yard.

I laugh. "Hey losers." I say as I walk up to them. They laugh. I hear the door open again and I see Payton and Emma walk towards us. "We got this. Just go set up the bouncey castle." I say taking a roll of streamer from Jinxx's hand. They laugh.

"Ok." Andy says and they walk towards the deflated sack of rubber (😂). Ashley turns and winks at me. I laugh and turn around. I evaluate what the guys have done. "It looks like they just threw it wherever.." Payton says smiling. "They did." Emma laughs. We get to work.

We tear down and rearrange the streamers. By the time we get done we only have ten mins. Ella comes running out of the house. "He's on his way home." We quickly grab all the streamer and stand back. We all admire the backyard. "Wow. Nice job." Cc says walking out. We smile and all head inside.

The guys hide the un used supplies then grab the balloons and put the up outside and throughout the house. Ella and I take the cake out side and set it on the table. As I'm putting the gifts behind it and making the table look pretty I hear Ella gasp. "Amethyst..." I look up at her.

"The lights." I freeze and look around. It's getting darker and darker and without the lights you can't see much. "Fuck." I say and we rush inside. "Guys where are the lights?!?" I yell. Everybody rushes to get the lights at the top of the stairs.

A few of us fall and we all end up laughing. We run back down the stairs, ripping the lights out of the boxes and running outside. Cc and Andy set up the lights for the ground and the rest of us wrap them around the trees and throw them into the trees. "Wait guys!" I yell.

Everybody stops dead. We hear a car door open and shut. "Go!" Ella whisper yells and we all rush inside after making sure the backyard looks good. We throw the boxes and some of the lights up the stairs and we all stand next to each other, rushing to put on party hats as Jake is unlocking the door.

We hear the door click and open. He turns the light on and all of us jump out. "Surprise!!!!" We yell and he laughs. Ella runs up and hugs him. We smile and laugh. "Come on. Close your eyes." She says covering his eyes and leading him outside.

"3...2....1! Open!" She says excitedly. He open his eyes and gasps. "Holy shit guys!! Did you all do this?!?" We nod. "We barely finished as you were pulling up." Emma says. He laughs. "This is amazing guys it looks great." He says hugging Ella.

I feel Ashley's arms wrap around my waist. "Nice socks by the way baby." I laugh. "I've heard." He tickles me and I smile. "Come on bitches! Let's have some fun!!" Emma says and we all laugh and run towards the bouncey castle.

Jake stops and laughs. "You kept saying you wanted one..." I say. He smiles and hugs me. "Thanks Ame." I smile and we all pile into the castle. We jump around for hours and have as much fun as we can.

We all are laughing and for once I feel something I haven't felt in a while. I realize that these are the only people I can feel it with. I smile. I finally know what it's like to be truly happy.
