Thirty Eight

Scott POV

We let Kirstie's mom watch Joe, and we head up to the mountains. Kirstie needed to have that time, and I was still re-living what had happened.

Kirstie told me she became anxiety driven, then depression hit her. Soon after, sucidal thoughts. Everywhere.

"I love you." I said, as I drove the car through the mountains.

"I love you to." I hear her muster, but she keeps her eyes peeled to the window.

"Joe is turning two next week, you excited?" I ask.

"I am very much so. I bought him the cutest blanket."

"I think I'm going to give him a football."

"Please no. Our baby doesn't need to get hurt like that."

"Ok ok. I'll order something cute off Amazon."

We arrive at the house, and Kirstie gets out, grabs her purse and walks in. I'm stuck with the baggage.

I rented a simple three room cabin with a hot tub.
The layout was simple.

You walk into the Living Room/Kitchen, to your left is the bathroom, and up a ladder is the loft, or bedroom. It was perfect.

I took our stuff and carried it up there, and I saw her looking out the window.

"It's beautiful." She smiles.

"It is." I say, and she looks at me.

"I love you so much." She says.

"I love you more."

Kirstie POV 3 AM

I run to my bag, and pull out the pregnancy test. I took one before I well- anyway, and it came back as negative. I'm sure of it though. I wait for the test, and then I look at it.

It read, +.

I'm pregnant. I become so happy. My purpose! This is why I stayed! To deliver a healthy child! Oh, this is wonderful.

I climb back up to the loft, and lay next to Scott.

It's going to be great tommorow.

Kirstie and I are hiking up the mountain pass, and she stops and sits down.

"You ok?" I ask her, and she looks back up at me.

"It's hard carrying two people."

My eyes widen.

"Two?" I ask. "Are you?"

"I am Scott."

I smile, and bring her into a kiss.

"I love you! I LOVE YOU!" I exclaim.

"I do to. I do to." She laughs.
