"So, came up with any ideas yet?" My dad asks me as I walk downstairs the next morning. My hair was everywhere and I was beyond pissed. I had stayed up half the night trying to come up with ideas to change Harry, but I had come up with nothing.

"No. It's not like I can write up some formula and be done with it, it's not that easy." I say with a sigh, and pour some coffee.

"But what about those kids? What did you do to help them?" He was trying too hard to get me on board with this stupid idea, and it wasn't even a good idea to start off with!

"Dad those were kids, this is a man who happens to be two years older than me, and not to mention a guy I dislike. Can't I let him fix his own problems?" I put two sugar cubes in and stir it around a bit before blowing on it and taking a sip.

"Meredith! What has gotten into you? This is not the Meredith I know! The Meredith I know wouldn't think so lowly on a human being." He stated angrily.

"Dad, he's an asshole. I help people who deserve it, I thought about it and I think it's a bad idea."

"Oh really? Come on Mer, you barely know him, we've been here a week and you've found more enemies than friends. A wise woman once told me that everyone deserves a chance at happiness, and a chance to forget the past." Oh great, now he was pulling the guilt card. That wise woman was me, but he didn't understand this time.

"Dad c'mon, that's not fair! You don't get it, he's a stuck up celebrity, give him some time and he'll smarten up."

"Do I? I think I get it more than you think. I teach the guy, and there is something up. I hate telling you what to do, you've always been so independant and that's what I love about you, but I am going to be a father here for a second and tell you that you have to at least be nice to him." I sigh in defeat. I didn't want to be nice to him, he was a jerk.

"But-"

"No buts Mer, he's only human." He returns his gaze back to the paper that we was reading and I let out a groan. I decide I need a shower, and that doesn't help me think of something, and neither does a pop tart. I just decide to get ready for the day and go for a walk, yeah a walk will do it.

I get dressed in simple shorts and a WWF tank top, and braid my wet hair back.

"Hey dad I'm going on a walk." He replies with a simple "okay" and I'm out the door. It's a five minute walk into Hollywood, and another seven until I'm in a more simplistic part of the city, with a large park. It's a lush green park, with a ton of trees and a koi pond with a giant fountain. It's peaceful, an completely un-LA.

I find myself sitting on a bench, ignoring the constant thought of how I was going to change Harry that was pounding inside my head, and admired the nature surrounding me.

Suddenly, I felt a moist tongue licking my calf. I looked down to see a boxer with only one eye cuddling up to my leg.

" Captain! Get back here!" A girl no older than me whistles for what I'm assuming is her dog.

"I'm sorry about that, he just really likes people." She runs over and clips the dog onto a leash, and he barks unhappily.

"Oh no worries! I love dogs." I smile at her, and she smiles back.

"I have four, all rescued from a shelter downtown." She rubs Captain behind his hears and he pants happily. "I'm sorry, how rude of me! My name is Tusla." She stands and holds her hand out, and I shake it.

"Meredith." I say with a smile.

"Meredith? as in Meredith Rambler?" She exclaims happily.

"That's the one."
