Will continued with their tale. He have details on battle that impressed both of his guests. Kat nearly cried when Will told the story of how he died and was able to live again as well as the curse.

"When the ten years were up," Will said "I brought the Dutchman back to this side. "Because Elizabeth waited for me the curse was broken." He pulled aside his shirt to reveal the faint scar. "My heart rests soundly again soundly in my chest and I was going to destroy the Flying Dutchman, but I needed Jack's help."

Suddenly a scruffy looking monkey landed on the table they were sitting at and screeched. Kat screamed and jumped back knocking her chair over in her flight. She instinctively slid her wand out and took up a defence position. James jumped up as well shielding her.

"Jack," young Will scolded as the monkey climbed on his arm and cooed softly. "It is not nice to scare guests."

The Turners stared at Kat who was too frightened by the experience to think clearly. She had an encounter with a monkey as a child that had left her mentally scared.

"Darling," James tried to sooth. "Calm down, it can't hurt you. Look the boy has it calmed down."

"What is that she's got there?" Gibbs asked.

James sighed in defeat. They would have to explain her magic. If only he could get her to calm down. "Could we get the monkey out of here."

Elizabeth nodded to her son and he obediently left the room with Jack. His grandfather followed him. Kat's blue gray eyes followed the monkey out as she gripped her husband's arms. When he was out of sight James guided her back to the chair Will had set back up for her.

"Darling, he is gone." James said kneeling beside her and gently trying to pry her wand out of her hand. She allowed him to take it and he enjoyed the momentary warmth of the wood before setting it down on the table.

Kat looked at him with regret. "I am sorry." She apologised. "I am terrified of the little creatures... and now you know that I am no normal human being. I am a witch... but a good witch."

The Turners and Gibbs all looked at one another in slight surprise. Gibbs crossed himself and stared. Kat looked at James exasperated. Her mind was begging him to allow her to wipe their minds, but the boy had left with the monkey.

"There is no need for that." James said snappishly. "She could possibly help you find your ship."

Will frowned at Gibbs. "I don't see why we should not trust her. Obviously she fears for her life because of her nature."

"Do you know what they do to people like me?" Kat asked. "We don't get hanged. We burn slowly."

Everyone in the room winced except James who knew how to disappear in a burning. Gibbs apologised.

"Do you think you can find Jack?" Elizabeth asked.

Kat closed her eyes. "I need a bowl of water... drinking water not sea water if you can. And keep the monkey away."

A few moments later a bowl of water lay before her. Kat stood before the table and leaned over the bowl. This was going to be difficult with the rocking ship.

"I wish I had some runes." She muttered. Taking her wand she slowly lowered the tip into the water. She leaned back closed her eyes and began chanting in Latin. The watchers heard her repeat Jack's name. Suddenly the clear water became murky.

Kat stood up straight. Her eyes flashed open and they glowed an eerie green. "Jack Sparrow and Hector Barbossa are in the land beyond the living." She said in a deep monotone. "They are cursed by the lady of the sea. They betrayed her lover and her trust. Your cause is lost."

As quickly as she fell into the trance Kat was out of it again. She collapsed onto the floor. James rushed to her side grabbing up her fallen wand before pulling her into a sitting position leaning back against her chest. "Are you all right?" He whispered in her ear as Will, Elizabeth and Gibbs came to join them on their side of the table.

"Fine," Kat breathed. "I-I have never channeled before... I only meant to scry. I was trying to bring an image up in the water, so you could see where they were." She explained. "But then I felt a presence. Someone another witch did not want them to be seen."

"Calipso," suggested Gibbs.

Kat rolled her eyes. She knew her to be nothing but a witch. She could feel the woman's power and it frightened her. She badly wanted to go home; and she did not mean the nice little cabin home on her and James' ship.

"She must have taken them to the locker." Agreed Will. "I guess our search is over."

"We're not going to go back for them?" Elizabeth asked.

"They are safe where they are," said Will. "The Dutchman is safe where it is. That is all I wanted was for the Dutchman to disappear. I am sorry Gibbs, for the loss of your captain. The Pearl is yours the next time we make port."

Gibbs' eyes widened. "Yer giving me the Pearl?"

"You know it better than anyone... Captain Gibbs."

"Aye sir." Gibbs said saluting and then hurrying out of the room.

"Will," Elizabeth snapped at him. "Jack is a good man. We cannot just leave him in the Locker again."

Kat looked up at James exasperated. The two were going to argue. Being alone on a small ship, there wasn't much to fight about. They argued over small things occasionally, like where have you moved this or that. (The end usually resulted in Kat summoning it... unless the lost object was her wand.)

"Jack is safe where he is and he has company this time. Besides we no longer have the map and I cannot get us there in this ship."

Elizabeth refusing to admit defeat stomped her foot and stormed out of the cabin. Will shook his head and looked out at the darkening sky. "It is for the best that Jack stay in the Locker isn't it, James."

"I suppose..." James replied unsure of what Will was asking.

"I know who you are James Norrington. I ferried souls for ten years to their final resting place. I spoke with Elizabeth's father and I never saw you."

"How..." James began.

"Everyone has a certain body language." Will said turning around and smiling at him. "I noticed the way you walked... Did you know I used to admire you as a child. You saved my life. Elizabeth pointed me out, but you ordered your men to rescue me. You don't forget someone like that.

"And I watched you while Elizabeth told you about your death. I saw how... humbled you felt when she said you were the tuning point in the war... the reason for our victory."

"No one else can know." Kat told Will. "I changed history by saving James' life. I was not supposed to do that, but I could not let him die." She squeezed her husband's hand.

"Thank you, Mr. Turner," James said returning to his lower voice. "In the end I guess I owe you just as much thanks. You brought me to her." He brushed his fingers across Kat's face lovingly.

"We should go now," Kat said softly. She was exhausted from her channeling experience.

James stood up easily while lifting her in his arms. He slid her wand back up her sleeve. "Good luck to you, Mr. Turner."

"And you, James."

The Norrington's waved farewell as the Black Pearl sailed away. When the ship was just a speck in the distance Kat removed all spells from her husband and threw her arms around him, pressing her lips to his.

"I love you too," James said when they broke apart.

Kat smiled sadly. "James," she said softly. "Today, for the first time in a long time... I wanted to go home." Tears were forming in her eyes.

"Shhh," James soothed pulling her into his arms. "I understand you know. I know you miss your family and friends..."

"Will I ever see them again?"

"I do not know my darling, I hope you will."
