"Home," Kat whispered when they woke up the next morning. She felt perfectly content. All of their dreams were about to come true. She streatched wiggling her toes up against her husband's grinning at him.
"Home," James replied smiling. Maybe this future wizard world was where he truly belonged. He pressed her to his body and connected their lips. They quietly expressed their happiness for a few moments.
When they had become breathless they seperated. They slid out of bed and got dressed. Kat wanted James to wear his uniform, but had transfigured one of his white shirts into a muggle dress shirt and a pair of his breeches into slacks. She duplicated Sirius' leather boots and had James wear them. He looked like a muggle of her time.
Kat transfigured one of her dresses back into her black robes. She sighed happily to be back in her familiar robes. She looked at James who wad staring at her. "What?" She asked.
"You look exactly how I remember you back when you brought me back to life. So beautiful. So... alluring."
Kat smiled and gave him her brush. He pulled his hair back with a black ribbon and then began brushing her hair. They did this every morning. When they were done Kat packed the bed into the trunk and shrunk it. She placed it in her pocket.
"Ready?" She asked holding out her hand.
James took it and allowed her to lead him out of the room. "I am with you, always."
Sirius was laying in the middle of the room with the pillow over his head. Kat toed him in the back. "Wake up sleepy. Time to go home." Sirius grumbled at her.
"He is not a morning person is he?" James asked.
"No," Kat agreed. "He is more of a 'I make my own hours' kind of person."
James nodded. "You were wealthy as children were you not?" Kat did not talk about her childhood or parents very often.
"Yes," Kat said. "And he was lazy in school and I did all the work on our apartment. He wont have that anymore." She said loudly. "We will have our own home."
James beamed at her. She almost glowed with excitement. He took her free hand and pulled her close just like she showed him. He placed one of her hands on his shoulder and held onto the other. His free hand slid down to her waist and they began dancing around the empty room.
"Do you have to do everything so loudly." Sirius muttered sitting up finally.
Kat laughed and James noticed it was different, more free. He didn't think she realized how much she missed home even though she loved being with him. James leaned forward and kissed the corner of her mouth as she laughed. This made her laugh more.
"Let's go before he jumps your bones again." Grumbled Sirius reaching into his pocket and pulling out the teacup.
"Later," Kat whispered to James when he raised an eyebrow. She kissed him again.
"Okay," Sirius muttered. "How to do this... Have you got everything? Wand?" He asked.
"Yes," Kat replied excitedly. She bounced a little like a child swinging her hand which was entwined with James'.
"All right. Kat, hold the cup. James," Sirius said as if the name were difficult. "You and I will hold onto her tightly. I will cast the spell."
Kat took the cup in both her hands. James wrapped one arm firmly around his wife's waist and with his other hand he gently gripped her arm. "You are fine." Kat said to him softly. "I don't want to lose you." James squeezed her a little more.
Sirius linked his arm with hers and squeezed hard. He lifted his wand. "Ready?" When both Kat and James nodded, Sirius said the spell and then pressed in close to his sister. They had all involuntarily closed their eyes.
"Tonks is going to be upset you lost one of her favorite teacups." The three of them heard a voice say a few minutes later.
"REMUS!" Kat shreeked. She kept away from James and Sirius and into Remus' arms. He instantly wrapped his arms around her and swayed with her from side to side. Both of them were suddenly crying. They said nothing to each other. They just stood there allowing nearly eighteen years of emotion pass.
Finally Kat broke away. "I am so sorry the way things ended for us; but I am so glad that you moved on." Kat beamed at him and wiped away tears with the sleeve of her robes. James gingerly stepped forward and handed her his handkerchief. Kat took it turning her loving smile on him as she wiped her eyes.
"I see you have moved on as well." Remus said smiling at James. He held his hand out to James. "Remus Lupin." He said introducing himself. "I want to thank you for apparently taking care of Kat. She... is a special woman."
James grinned and took Remus' hand and shook it firmly. "James Norrington." He said with a nod. "And I understand what you mean about her being special. She saved my life; in more ways than one." He put his arm around her and Kat burst into tears again.
"Oh, Merlin!" Sirius moaned. "Kat don't be so overdramatic."
Remus rolled his eyes. "Let her have a seat James. She is not overdramatic, Sirius. She is being bombarded with emotions, overwhelmed even. This is how she deals with it. You just wimp out and snap at people. Kat, would you like some tea? James?"
Kat nodded wiping her eyes again with James' handkerchief. "Yes, thank you Remus. James only takes a little sugar in his tea." She said smiling at her husband.
"Okay then," Remus said happy to comply. "Sirius since you can't take the waterworks, why don't you go get your brother? I am sure he wants to see his sister."
"Yeah, all right." Sirius muttered trudging out of the room and then the house.
"I sent Tonks and Teddy out and I didn't tell anyone what Sirius did." Said Remus setting the tea cups in front of each of them before sitting himself. "I didn't know how or if you and Sirius were coming back."
Kat sipped her tea. "Thank you so much Remus. You always seem to know what is best."
"I try." Remus said blushing. "So, James, what do you do?"
"I was a Commador for the East India Trading company," James said with a smile.
Remus almost choked on his tea. "But that..."
"Yes, Remus." Kat replied nodding. "But I would rather explain everything to everyone at once."
Remus nodded staring at James. "You just won't settle with an ordinary man will you?"
Kat laughed and squeezed James' hand as they grinned at each other. "I guess not." She said.
