Chad watched her sleep. She was so beautiful, even filthy and with tear streaks down her cheeks. He wanted desperately to hug her, to kiss her, to free her, but the voices wouldn't let him. Not only the voices in his head, but the voices that had called him two days ago. They had told him to dump the love of his life, follow her, kidnap her, and await further instructions. Or they would kill her. He couldn't let Alyssa die, he just couldn't. So he had done what the voices said. He tried to keep her suffering as painless as possible, when the voices in his head allowed him to, but he knew she hated him. And that was heartbreaking enough, but having to watch her, unconscious, unaware, bound and gagged, just made him want to scream. He threw the club at the wall and enjoyed the satisfying thwack. Tears streamed down his cheeks. He quickly wiped at them, just in case they were watching. He couldn't let them know. He couldn't let them know that he was planning on letting her go, letting her escape, letting her leave, even though she might still hate him, even though he'd probably never see her again, the one he loved would be free from him.
