Shadows of the Mind

Part 8

Chad was freezing.  Coming out of Ryan's head was like walking into the world's coldest freezer.  He woke up on the floor, with an uncomfortable pressure on his back.  Someone was stepping on him.  He twisted around best he could and found Alyssa, Alyssa?!, standing on him, still bound and gagged, stroking his club.  She caught him watching and smashed it into his head before he could even react.

Chad woke up on the floor.  He had a gag in his mouth, ropes on his wrist and feet, and he was sitting in a chair.  He groaned.  He had missed far too much to Ryan's influence.  He tried to search his memories, but he didn't get far.  "Uh uh," Ryan said.  Chad sighed.  Well, he wasn't going to figure out how Alyssa had whipped this out today, but he wouldn't give up.  He would figure out where his Alyssa had gone, no matter how long it took.  

Suddenly, Chad felt a prick in his neck.  His head immediately fogged.  He saw a figure, he hadn't the faintest idea who, walk around and crouch in front of him.  Before he lost all sense of everything, he heard a voice whisper, "You've failed.  She's ours."

Agent 1450 grabbed the walkie-talkie at his belt and clicked it on.  "Agent 1450 to base, over."

"We read you loud and clear, 1450."

"Subject has been injected, serum should take affect at any time.  Mission complete, over and-" The club hit him from behind before he could've had any chance to see it.  Agent 1450 crumpled, and unlike Chad, he was never going to wake up.

Jane rifled through her victim's pants and found a second hypodermic needle, obviously meant for her.  She snorted.  They thought they could defeat her, Jane, with this?!  She began to laugh.  Chad stirred.  And that's when Alyssa saw her window.

Alyssa broke free of Jane's influence and stabbed the giant needle into Jane's, her, their leg.  She began to swoon even before she pushed the plunger.  She hated needles.  She pushed the plunger halfway before Jane smothered her again, but that was enough.  Their body slumped to the ground and that's when the battle for the mind began.
