Jane grinned. She wiped the sweat out of her eyes and laughed. Ryan backed away, and rightfully so. Jane knew there was a fire in her eyes. She rolled her neck, rolled her shoulders, shook herself out, then lunged forward. He stumbled back, caught off guard.
It was Ryan's turn to smile. He lunged forward, metal hitting metal and creating the pleasing shink! sound. Their swords clashed for a bit, steal biting steal, then they gave each other the nod, signifying it was time to switch.
Jane wiped the sweat out of her eyes and grinned. This was the most fun she'd had in...well... since forever. Ryan was so enjoyable.... She wiped the smile off her face. No. Emotions made battle harder. Emotions were muddling. Emotions were weak.
Jane whirled, bow in her hands. The arena had shifted to hide-and-seek battle mode. Ryan was nowhere to be found. She smiled slyly. Oh, she was more than willing to play the cat.... Let the chase begin.
