Chapter 4

Chapter 4: Monday Morning

"Hey Athena, can I come in?" Dalia ask leaning against my door frame. I sat up in my bed and tapped the empty space beside me gesturing for her to sit.

"What's up?" I asked Dalia. Her eyes told me something was bothering her. "Is something wrong?" I asked turning into my worry wart mode.

"Don't worry. It is nothing to worry about," she says and I calm back down. "Just came to ask if you could drive me to work tomorrow until I get my car in the evening."

"You got a job?" I jumped up from my bed to look at Dalia.

"Yeah I needed something to keep me busy." Dalia stated. Well that made sense. Dalia has money, she doesn't have to work a day in her life, but I guess since I will be going to school now it will get lonely at home.

"Oh," I say sitting back down. "Sure I will carry you to work." I finally answered her question. Realisation hit me I don't know where she works. "By the way, where do you work?" I asked her.

She looked a bit hesitant about what she is about to tell me. "Promise you won't freak out."

"It depends." I say giving her a sceptical look.

"Promise." She deadpan.

"Fine. I promise I won't freak out." I replied flatly.

Truth be told I was not prepared for what she says next. "Good because I am your new Chemistry teacher." She says quickly. Ok I know I said I promise not to freak out and I didn't, but did I hear right.

"Slowdown. Did you just say you're my new Chemistry teacher?" it is not a bad thing but I don't expect Dalia to become a teacher. Straight through college the girl whined about how teachers are annoying.

"Yes I am your new Chemistry teacher. The last one retired." Well at least two good things came out of this. First one being I don't have to listen to a miserable old lady nag all day. Second my bestie is cool and she can actually teach. The problem though is that she will be a distraction to the many hormonal teenage boys.

"Am glad you're the new Chemistry teacher and word to the wise don't dress to impress." I say to her giving her a pointed look.

"Can't make promises baby girl." She says in a sing song voice. "Anyway we need to get some beauty sleep we have to wake up 5:30 if we want to make a good impression." Dalia says as she makes her way for the door.

"Holy mother of pearls. You going to have to wake me up in the morning. Good night." I called after her.

"No problem. The pleasure is all mine." Ok is it just me or did her voice sound evil to you. I am gonna have to sleep with one eye open. I turned off the lights and snuggled up with Mr. Whisker before falling asleep.

Dalia's POV

It is 5:25 in the morning and I remember correctly Athena ask me to wake her up so right now I am heading over to her room. Athena can be really hard to wake up. I remember one time when I threw ice cold water on her. You should have seen her face, it was priceless.

I opened Athena's door and walked quietly over to her bed. She looked so peaceful, like an angel. Oh well, angel moment over. (Does evil laugh)

"Athena wake up," I say softly while shaking her. It's not working time to kick it up a notch. "Athena, Athena, Athena wake up," I say louder shaking her harder. Damn this girl can sleep.

"Urg! Go away." She mumbled still sleeping. Well at least I got something out of her.

"Think, think, think....... I got it." I got the perfect plan to wake my little beauty up. It is a bit evil but it will work. I took out my phone and turn on the video camera. I put it stand so I can get it on video. After that I opened her blinds. Time to put the plan into gear.
