Chapter 9: Confrontation!

Dear Diary,

It has been three weeks since I started school, joined the soccer team, found out am a werewolf and met my mate. I also joined a bunch of different clubs. I haven't told my parents about my discoveries but I plan on telling them when they get back from set today.

I have grown closer with my bestie Dalia as she teaches me about the werewolf society. My other friends are doing great and I even have a new best friend. Can you guess who? Never mind I will just tell you. It is Luke and he is also the beta of the Golden Moon Pack and best friend with my mate.

The soccer training is awesome and even though I told the school not to watch my warm-ups the boys still crowd the bleachers like they are going to watch a game. With all the attention from the unmated males you know a very possessive and jealous Alpha is not far behind.

Nick has been nothing but great. The goddess made a perfect match for me. He has being taking things slow which is a lot different than what he is used to.

Oh I almost forgot about Blondie. What a bitch. Anyways, I don't think she got the point about Nick being my mate. Every chance she gets she tries to seduce him. Nick and I may not have mated but for Pete's sake respect the mate bond.

Only Nick, Dalia and my biological parents know about my wolf form. No one knows of my powers. That reminds me I am meeting them at the end of this month on my birthday. Halloween contrary to what my birth certificate says which is the day before Halloween. So time is running out on confronting my parents.

Wish me luck today I will be telling them. Well later going to the mall with Dalia and Eliza to get ball gowns for my birthday party. Since am turning eighteen and it is Halloween we thought it would be fun to have a masquerade ball.

I ran down the stairs dressed in some ripped boyfriend jeans with the ankles rolled up, loose long sleeve chiffon top and chunky brown boots. No make-up on just lip balm and for accessories I have on my ray bans and my wolf necklace. Downstairs Dalia was waiting with Eliza. Dalia was rocking high-waist black jeans, a loose white chiffon tank and black wedges. Eliza was wearing a cute ruffled floral top, blue jeans, pink flats and bandeau to match the colour in her top.

Jamie was escorting us today since we didn't want to scare Eliza with our reckless driving. We were on our way to pick out dresses and get the invitations designed. This party was going to be pretty exclusive.

The ride has been pretty quiet except for the noise coming from Eliza's tablet. She was watching 'Barbie and The Diamond Castle'. I love Barbie, I still watch it even though am turning 18. Don't judge.

Fifteen minutes later we walked into a boutique that only people with good money could ever get into. The place screamed elegance the minute you walk through the door.

The lady who worked there was elegantly attired in a pristine white dress and heels. Her hair was caught in a tight bun and her make-up was perfect. She gave us a smile and ushered us to the couches to sit.

"We are looking for ball gowns fit for a masquerade ball. We want well-constructed gown. We don't care what the prices are our budget limit is perfection anything less than perfection is unacceptable." Yeah, fun fact about D, when she is in her shopping mode don't get her mad. So you would know that the clerk is kind of squirming from D's seriousness, heck am squirming too and it's not even me she's talking to.

The lady who screamed confidence when we walked in looks like a child who just got reprimanded. "I'll get right to work." Then she literally ran off to start hunting for dresses.

"Wow D could you be any harsher?" She just shrugged. Typical Dalia, doesn't make sense I bother to try telling her to be nice.

The lady came back with a bunch of dresses on two racks. She let us scan through the dresses and trust me these dresses were beautiful, especially the ones for Eliza.

A black ball gown caught my eye and I knew it would be the perfect one for my sister. "Eliza take this dress and let the nice lady help you into it." Eliza paused her movie and followed the lady into a dressing room. Dalia was still judging the dresses and I just sat back and watch her.

She knows her stuff when it came to fashion so I will let her take the reins. She finished separating the ones she thought were up to her standards when Eliza came out. The dress looked even more beautiful on her.

It was a black Cinderella gown. It had an intricate pattern in the dress which makes it even more beautiful. It hugged her little upper body perfectly before flaring out. It was simply amazing and the look on everyone's face told me this was the dress.

So with Eliza's dress out the way it was now time for D and I to get our dresses together. We were lucky to find Eliza a dress on her first try but it won't be so easy finding a dress for me and Dalia.

This clerk better pull out her big guns.

...

It is now five in the evening meaning dinner will be served as well as I will be updating my parents on my discoveries. I put on my nude ballet flats and smooth out the white summer dress I was wearing before leaving my closet.

Ok this is it time to face mom and dad. Am very nervous.

Don't be nervous. They are still your family they will understand. I can always count on my wolf for encouragement.

Thanks that helped me a little.

"Come on don't be scared. You are beautiful and fearless girl don't let the nerves get to you." The wise words of Dalia. I hugged her because she has always been there for me.

"What if I upset them or scare them?" Worse what if they hate me? I don't know how I would take it if they did.

"They won't now let's go. They are waiting for us."

I walked down the stairs slowly, trying to put off the event as long as I can. Dalia on the other hand wasn't having any off that and used her werewolf speed to bring me right to the dining room door. I let out a long breath before entering the room.

Greeting everyone I took a seat at the table next to Dalia. Oh, how the nerves are eating out my insides. Dinner was served and we were all enjoying our food in a peaceful silence. That's until mom asked how school was doing. This is my window of opportunity.

"Great mom. I've been learning a lot of interesting things." You have no idea how interesting it is.

"Well darling go ahead and share." Dalia squeezed my hands for reassurance. Time to let the words fly.

"I-I..." I took a deep breath. I can't do this but I know I have to. "I know about my past." The words that came out next had everyone's attention. "I know I am adopted." There was a lot of mixed expressions at the table. I was nervous as hell, Eliza was shocked, Dad nearly choked on his wine and mom look like she wanted to cry.

"I'm sorry we didn't tell you. It wasn't because we didn't think you would understand. It's just that it was too hard for us to admit. We love you like you are our own. Actually to me you are my own." Mom was crying and I couldn't help but get up and hug her soothing her.

"We were afraid that when you found out..." dad started but the look on his face told me he didn't want the words to come out fearing it would happen. He cleared his throat and spoke again. "... We afraid you wouldn't want us anymore and would leave."

"Am never leaving. You are still mom and dad in my book. Nothing will ever change that." I said it with so much conviction that it sooth them a little. Now all I have to do is tell the rest with that same amount of conviction.

"That's not all I found out but I need your word." They were listening to me. "I need you to promise me after I tell you the next part, you guys will not look at me differently and that nothing will change between us."

They nodded their heads giving me the signal of their promise.

"Mom. Dad. Eliza. I am a werewolf." I let out.
