It happened too fast. Too . . . too, EVERYTHING. You didn't even know what happened but the moment you snapped out of your trance, your savior, your mother stood infront of you. Giving you a comforting warmth.

"Mom!" You exclaimed with a cheerful grin, "god, y/n. you okay, kid?" Sans asked you worriedly, "UNDYNE. YOU DO NOT STAB MY FRIENDS." Papyrus whined, "W-We're s-sorry P-Papyrus."

". . . . . . . . you're going to pay for that. . . ." A deep, congenial voice spoke, you turned and saw the fire man standing behind everyone, despite that he doesn't have any eyes but a sunglasses, you could feel his stern gaze and the intense force leaked into his voice. Your eyes darted down to the bar counter and saw that the spear that was suppose to hit you was struck deep into the wooden counter.

"welp, this time i'm deffs sure it wasn't me who did it." Sans grinned lazily, "you could say i," Papyrus suddenly tensed and stared at his brother, "SANS, NO." he told his brother, "got speared from my debt!" he said proudly and you just . . . started giggling once again. It's a kind of giggle that was music into their ears. Sending a round of relief. Of pleasure to everyone who hears it. As if nothing was wrong. As if you were something precious that only comes once in a life time.

It was a kind of giggle that . . . actually made them feel free.

"Child?" Toriel called after you calmed down, "Yeah, mom?" You answered, taking her aback, she smiled at you and sighed in relief, "Thank goodness you're alive." She chuckled, "Of course I am. I got Sans and the rest with me." You told her truthfully. Sans couldn't help but flash you another lazy grin, but despite the rest of his grins, you could confidently say that this one's sincere.

Toriel smiled at you and nodded, "Are you sure you wanted to leave the Underground, child?" She asked in a low, understanding voice. You thought of what she said for a second before nodding. You have a family waiting for you on the surface. But . . . by doing so, by getting reunited with them means the freedom of each monster in the Underground . . . would be gone. You grimace at the thought of leaving your new friends behind. You thought it was selfish. But . . . being selfish once in a while isn't bad.

But by being selfish means leaving them all behind with another false hope. Once you step on the surface, you knew that humans wouldn't want another one of their species to fall back down. That's why they'll do anything to keep them from doing so. But despite everything you thought. Despite the positive and negativeness in your thoughts, you . . . nodded your head.

Toriel seemed both . . . unpleased yet pleased with your answer. You could feel the tension on your shoulders. The atmosphere falling rock solid into the ground. You regretted your decision the moment you nodded. Toriel gave you the chance to shook your head, but why didn't you take it? Why did you have to go and bounce your head up and down? You knew it was too late to change what you have decided. And it's not like there are any reset button for you to go back and change your decision once and for all.

But apparently, life isn't a game where you can just reset it whenever you did something wrong. That's why . . . you have to face the consequences of your every choices. Of your every decisions. Toriel gave you a small, bitter smile and said, "Very well. If there is nothing else you would want more, then . . . you are allowed to go home." You couldn't help but tear up at what she said. You shot yourself up and ran towards your Underground Mother and gave her a big, warm hug.

"I wish I could stay," you told her in a form of a sob, "I know, child." Toriel sighed, "You have to go now." Toriel insisted as she broke herself from your hug. After that, you felt lonely. Like the warmth. The kindness. And the love she gave you was taken away from you the moment she pulled herself off your hug.

"no worries, tori. I'll keep an eye out the kid for ya." Sans told Toriel, she smiled at the short skeleton and nodded, "Yes, thank you, Sans."

As you watch the two spoke and the rest of the monster mind their own business, you knew that this journey you're about to have would be . . . puntastic thanks for your companion. And. . . .

Knowing that Sans will now join your journey, it fills you with . . . D E T E R M I N A T I O N.
