Being the oldest one at home is sort of weird now. I'm used to having lots of older siblings, mostly girls, to talk to before going to bed, having less responsibilities and just living like anyone should. So it's nice to have everyone back. Jana had told us to meet her up in the girls room in 5 minutes. She didn't want it to look suspicious to Mama and Pops so we each went up one at a time.
Once we were all in the room, we went to go and sit where we normally would have on a normal night when we were together. That wasn't happening. There were only 5 beds. Each at a different side of the room, leaving a big space in between.
"Jana, what did you want to talk to us about?" Jill asked.
I could tell Jana was nervous. Something was up.
"We're not gonna spaz no matter what you tell us." Jessa said.
I swear we waited almost 5 minutes until Jana decided to tell us. At least for me it seemed to be 5 minutes.
"I'm pregnant." Jana finally said.
A rush of emotions came over me. Joy, happiness and fear.
"Have you told anyone?" Jessa asked.
"Not except for you guys." Jana replied.
"How? Did you secretly get married?" I asked.
"What no!" Jana said shocked.
"Then who's baby is it?" Jill asked.
"Dawson and mine." Jana responded.
"Who?" I asked her.
"Dawson. The guy that is waiting back in Calgary." Jana answered.
"Does Mama and Pops know about it?" I asked her. Jana shook her head. We all looked at each other.
"So what are you planning?" Jessa asked.
"I'm planning on staying back in Calgary and having the baby there."
"Without Mama or Pops knowing?" Jill said almost as shocked as we all felt.
Jana nodded.
"Does John know?" I asked.
Jana shook her head again. "Well I'm gonna tell him when we are on our way back to Calgary."
"Well we know Mama is going to be excited for you, yet she is going to be upset that it didn't lay out like it was supposed to." Jessa said.
"That's just it. I think it was laid out. I have a baby inside of me for a reason." Jana said.
"Okay that didn't come out right. But you know what I mean. And Pops is going to be really upset with you. I don't know if it will be worse to tell him now or later." Jessa finished.
"How about we don't tell him." Jana said.
"Are you crazy? He would freak when he did find out!" Jill said.
"And how are you going to hide it once you get to the later stages though?" Jessa asked.
"I'll go back to Alberta." Jana said.
"Then maybe we should all be there." I said. "Ask Pops if us girls can go on a trip"
All of us girls looked at each other.
"Should Joy and Johannah come with us?" Jessa asked.
"Maybe Joy. I don't know about Johannah though," Jana said "I mean I love her and everything but news travels fast in the house."
"Okay. So-"
Just then the door opened and Josie walked in.
