AUTHOR'S NOTE:  This is a poem I wrote a while back for a guy I was seeing at the time.  This was/is a "past life" write, someone I knew in another life and met again in this one.  I have had re-occurring dreams about this particular past life, just little glimpses here and there throughout my life up until I met him again, then it all made sense.  I would like to think that he remembered too, on a subconscious level, but he wasn't ready to remember; I think it scared him in a way.

'A Reuniting of Sorts (Take 1)' has also been included in this book, which I dedicated in honor of Michael Hutchence on what would have been his 56th Birthday; the chapter title for that poem is 'For Michael -- A Reuniting of sorts (Take 1)'.

---- The song is called 'Alien' by Bush, I added it because I freakin' love that song. :)

(The photo of Michael Hutchence above was taken by Laura Levine in 1986 and all copyrights go to her.  It's probably my favorite photo of him).

A Reuniting of sorts (Take 2)

Two souls intertwine in a fit of heated passion

little do they know -- on a conscious level --

... that they have loved before ...

... So much like a coming home!

The long and weary and heart-wrenching journey was over,

          and for the first time

I knew what it was for my heart to be full.

                    ...... Now,

not angry, nor indifferent.

Not achy, nor longing.

Not vengeful, nor jealous,

... a little dazed, perhaps, from the memory of you

From what it had known before,

and had come

SO ... so close to knowing again ...

                       Now ...

                                   ... just sad.

A sadness that reaches far and deep,

a sadness that fills both my heart,

                          ... and yours ...

A sadness that shall expand ever outward,

filling the Universe as it cries out in its infiniteness

                             as it too,

                                        remembers...
