Author's Note:  Holy smokes, it's been a while since I've published anything here, hasn't it? I'm so sorry it's taken me so long, I seem to have come up against a ginormous case of writer's block & it's taken me a while to  (mostly) get passed it.

Any-hoo, hope y'all like this, it just sort of popped into my head whilst I was writing an update to another story, which I haven't completed as of yet.

This is also the very first time I'm publishing from my phone, I don't think I've quite gotten the hang of it yet, I apologize in advance if I make any errors.  Haha.  Enjoy! :)(:

SMOKE SIGNALS

Drowning in complacency
choking on thin air
'Round and 'round, there you go again
But you don't seem to care

And I'm wondering what I'm doing here
Wondering why I came
The smoke signals I'm sending
aren't getting through
And soon it's gonna rain

And I'm wondering why we're doing this
When we've done it all before
It's not taken long to get to this point
Ashes scattered across the floor

Drowning in redundancy
Choking on desire
Somehow, it always comes down to this
When there's smoke, there's fire
