The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. - John 1:5
I really don't like being in the dark. Of course, when I'm sleeping it's different, but I don't like standing somewhere I can't see around myself and do what I want. I'm sure you all have felt that feeling. Maybe it was when the power went out, or maybe it was when you had to get your key from the car in the night. There are many cases, but have you thought of a case where you are trapped in darkness... forever?
Many people choose to go the wrong way, and follow sin. Many people decide that they want to go into the dark. If they don't come out very soon, and if light doesn't shine on their dark world, that's their home for a very long time...
Now thins may sound uncomfortable and you want to stop reading this but don't. There is a better way! You don't have to be in the darkness for long. If you cry out and say, "Light! I need you!" It will come, trust me, it will. We aren't talking like magical lamps coming to save me, no. We're talking about God's spiritual light. If you find yourself taking part in sin, if you find yourself taking part in lies, if you find yourself taking part in Satan's darkness? It's time to get out! You don't have to be trapped in darkness! Just call out to God and he will rescue you if you are willing to live in light forever.
Let me tell you something... the world makes darkness look fun and that you're missing out if you don't go out of the light. That is the opposite of what it is. Don't fall into the temptation of darkness. Stay in the light of hope and love. But if you do fall, the light will shine in the darkness, and the darkness will not comprehend it.
Dear Jesus,
This is a powerful message you gave to us today. This is a powerful message you want us to follow. But it won't be easy so help us stay in your light. Help us Jesus know that you are our Salvation and hope. Let not Satan steal us from your grasp. Keep us safe from the dark. We will stay in your love forever. Thank you for that light that's willing to take us whole and restore us from all sin. You are the only God. Forever more.
Amen.
