For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps. 1 Peter 2:21

Following Christ.

What does that mean?

Does it mean following  Jesus. Literally? Leaving all the people you love, selling all your belongings, and just going wherever God leads you. The disciples followed Jesus in his journeys through the deserts, wildernesses, and persecution. They stayed by his side because of the love he offered. He offered them something no one could give them. Eternal life, love, forgiveness, kindness, and so much more! Wouldn't you love to be with someone like that? I know I would!

So back to my question. Does it mean following Jesus. Literally? The answer is no. Back then the disciples could be with Jesus. Right now hem is heaven preparing a wonderful world for us. So then, what does it mean to follow him now?

In GOD there's life everlasting, In GOD there's freedom for my soul, In GOD there's joy, unending joy, and I WILL follow him.

So, you follow God by trusting him, loving him, telling others about his forgiveness, and accepting that he IS God. He is he Savior that you will follow for the rest of your life and beyond.

I will follow you.

Dear Jesus,

I'm writing this to remind everyone what a blessing you are. You are our God, the one who watches over us and meets all of our needs and troubles. Lord, I ask you to be with everyone today, as they embark on a journey with you. They will walk in your footsteps, but they will, and I will, need your guidance and strength to carry on. So Lord? Please help me always trust in you, and stand for what I believe in and WHO I believe in. I will ALWAYS follow you.

Amen.
