Part 20- Speak Up

But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.  1 Peter 3:15-16

Speak up.

This can be applied to many situations. But most of the time when you hear the phrase "speak up" you think of one of the great issues many people face today, bullying.

I feel like I am surrounded by bullies and bully victims.  And I always ask myself the question, "What should I do?"

Have you ever felt that way? Well if you have, I can relate. Sadly, I am a victim. Everyday I dread school because I have to come face to face with this boy. He is the meaning of bullying. He always has to find some way to put me down and say something negative and just plain mean to me. And honestly it gets to me. I don't know what I did wrong to make him act like that towards me. Verbal and physical harassment is not acceptable, my teacher would say.

Today the idea came to me to speak up.

In the Bible it says that you should speak up for what you believe in and what you believe is right. And to not be rude but show Christ in your actions. I have to say when I do these things, things just get worst.

I decided to go to the teacher and tell him about this problem that has been going on for a while. I know he will do everything he can to make my life easier.

I pray that God will help me through this tough time and help me SPEAK UP.

Dear Jesus,

I know you are always by my side even in the toughest times. I need you in my life especially at school when kids are being their worst towards me. Please help me, Mr. D, and the bully look to you in this situation. I need you grace and I will listen to your will in this rough time.

I love you Lord.

Amen.
