Chapter Eight "We Know"

[Petra's POV]

I stood by the truck, and tugged on my clothes. Aatu copied me, and tugged on his shorts. Damn, he looks hot without a shirt. I shake my head, and look at him. Aatu sniffed the air, "Someone's here." He said, looking around. "Pfft. You're just imagining things, Aatu." I waved him off. I sniffed the air. A familiar scent hit my nose. "Uh. You're right." I mumble. Aatu smirks, "Of course I'm right." I feel like slapping his shoulder, but decide against it. "I'm calling Scott and Jeremy." Aatu tells me. I huff with a quick roll of my eyes, "The Luna does not need protection. I can handle myself." I cross my arms, glaring at him.

Aatu looks at me with soft eyes. Awwe. "Alpha still needs his mate or else he'll die a few months after she." He says, I feel like kissing his cheek, but I don't want to piss Isa off. I hear a soft slap, and an "Oohhh." From the forest; I looked around. "Who..?" I said, and started to walk towards the forest. The scent grew stronger, and I could smell fear and nervousness mingle with the scent.

"Okay! We give up!" I gasp in shock when I see Vesta and Sofia pop out of the forest. Aatu growls at them, walking up behind me. I look at him with a glare. "Do NOT touch one hair on their heads, understand wolfie?" I hiss. Aatu stops and nods. I smirk, and look at the two. "How did you find us?" I ask. "Uh....Security Cameras?" Sofia says, with a nervous glance at Vesta, who raises her hands. "Hey, I'm not the one who told you to replay the scene over and over again!" She said, I laughed.

Aatu pushed me behind him. "You know about us?" He growled. Vesta grins with a nod. "Very interesting." She says, and looks at me. "Can you please release my friend here?" She said, I nod and glare at Aatu, who lets me come up and stand beside him. "You're so cute when you're protective. But you need to let me talk for the Moon Goddess's sake!" I say, slapping him playfully on the shoulder. Aatu shrugs, and looks at Vesta.

I look at them, and frown. "You can't tell anyone." I say. Vesta looks at Sofia. "Can we join your pack?" She asks. I widen my eyes, "Uh." I look at Aatu, "I'm perfectly fine with it. Aatu?" I say, and look at him. Aatu shrugs, "As long as they keep weres a secret." He said, and the two nod.

I smile happily, and walk over to Vesta. "Welcome to the pack!" I say. My eyes flicker to black then a pale blue, signaling that Isa had taken over. "Hello." She says in her soft voice. "Uh. Where's Petra?" Sofia asks. Isa looks at them. "I'm Isa, Petra's cat." She says. Zara shoves Isa out of the way, and takes over. "OOOH! I like your eyes!" Vesta says. Zara laughs her thanks. "I'm Zara, Petra's wolf." She says.
