Chapter Nine- "The Security Camera"

[Vesta's POV]

I sighed, and locked the black-and-red wolf's cage, then walked back into the main building. Sofia greeted me when I came in. "So how are they doing?" She asked. I grinned, "Fine, I guess." I tell her. "I should've killed 'em. They went through so much pain... Especially the female when we reset her leg." Sofia said. I huffed, and crossed my arms. "You did the right thing though. What do you say if we go and text Kassana and Petra?" I ask. Sofia nods, "Sound good." She says, and we both pull out our phones.

Me: Hey Kassana!

Kassana: Oh, hey...

Me: What's wrong?

Kassana: Can't find Petra or her boyfriend Aatu.

Me: Do you think they're okay?

Kassana: Of course! Aatu, Petra's boyfriend, will protect her to his last breath!

Me: Oh. That's uh, cool :/

Kassana: I gtg. Bye!

Me: Kay bye

I turned off my phone at put it in my pocket. I looked at Sofia, "Any luck with Petra?" I asked. Sofia shook her head, no. I huffed, and I nodded to the building where the wolves were held. "Let's go check on them." I tell her. Sofia nodded, "Good idea." She says, and we walk over to the place, when we open the door, the cage doors are open. "Where are they?!" I ask, worried. "Someone must've taken them! Let's go check the security camera." Sofia says, and hurries into the main building. She pulls up the security system in her office, and she fast-forwards to 4:30 PM. "Okay, there's you closing the cages..." She says, as I walk out of the room in the video.

The black-and-white female wolf lifts her head, and then looks at her leg, then at the other wolf in the cage next to her. The other wolf pads up to her cage, then. Oh wow. Is that? I turned my head. "Ack! Shut it off! I don't want to see his stuff!" I say. Sofia goes back, and replays the scene. "Why are you replaying the scene?" I ask as I watch it. The other wolf shifts this time, and I can't believe what I'm seeing. "Is that... Petra?" I ask. Sofia nods blankly, and goes back k and replays the scene over and over again. "Shut that off! What the heck is wrong with you!?" I say, covering my eyes, Sofia peels my hands away from my eyes. "Do you realize this?" She asks, I shake my head.

"Werewolves are real! And Petra is one!" She says, nodding to the video. I watch it as Petra crawls out of the cage, and unlocks the guy's cage. The guy then pulls her into a hug, and Petra pushes him away. Petra looks at her leg and starts to dance around. "This is impossible. Werewolves are NOT real." I mutter.

Sofia shrugs, "Anything is possible." She says, and I watch the video. The guy and Petra walk out of the back door, and Petra turns her head and locks eyes with the security camera. I dart out of the room, and towards the cage-room. I run out of the back door, and begin to follow footprints in the mud, which lead to the forest. Sofia soon follows, and we both follow the tracks to a huge mansion. And there's Petra, tugging on come clothes with the guy next to her. The guy tugs on some shorts, and then sniffs the air. "Someone's here." He says.

"Pfft. You're just imagining things, Aatu." Petra waves him off, and sniffs the air. "Uh. You're right." She says, Aatu smirks "Of course I'm right." He says. "I'm going to call Scott and Jeremy." He says. Petra huffs. "The Luna does not need protection. I can handle myself." She says, crossing her arms.

I make a puzzled face. What's Luna? I asked myself. "The Alpha still needs his mate or else he'll die a few months after she." Aatu says. I face palm myself. "Oohhh" I say, then slap a hand over my mouth. Petra looks around, "Who...?" She looked around, and started to walk towards Sofia and I's hiding spot.
