I tapped my nails over the kitchen counter, thinking about old times with my brother.

Why did Aatu have to ask that question?

I smiled as I remembered him.

Jason Rain Stripe. (A/N Wierd mix up for names lol)

My brother.

~Flashback~

"Jason?" It was my tenth birthday. The day that, unknowingly to me, wpuld be the last day I'd see him. He looked down at me, his messy dirty blond hair fell into.his face, he swept it away and looked at me with his emerald green eyes. "Yeah?" He asked. "Do you know who our father is yet?" I asked. He frowns and shakes his head. "We'll both find out on your seventeenth birthday." He said.

At the time he was fifteen. "What about your birthday?" I asked. "They don't pay attention to the sons of the pride-heart." Jay told me with a hiss. "When will I shift?" I asked. "When you're seventeen." Jay replied simply.

"But you shifted when you were fifteen!"

"That's because I'm a regular male without the pride-heart gene. They beleive you have the pride-heart gene. But you'll only find out if you actually do once it's your seventeenth birthday." He says.

"Jay?"

"Hmm?"

"Do you know anything of our father?" I ask, I wanted to know about him. "Mother said that his mother was a werecat... but his father was the werewolf Alpha of the Winter Blizzard Pack."

"Do we have werewolf in us?" I aksed. "Perhaps. I don't. I know as much as that." Jay says. "Perhaps you do." Jay looks at me with a smile.

Then his face goes slack. "Petra... get behind me." He says. I look at him, confused. "What is it?" I ask.

"Werewolves." Jay replies and shifts into a large orange tiger.

That's when I knew my father was a tiger shifter.

But I never asked my mother about it.

Apparently she was too, and so was I.

I watched as Jay growled. I stayed behind him, looking around at the forest surrounding us.

Suddenly four large wolves bounded out from the forest.

They were not Twilight-sized wolves... but they were pretty large. The wolves showed their canines and growled. They had scars all over their face, one had a scar over his eye. But they were not focusing on Jay.

They were looking at me.

When I tell you to, run. Jay says an order through our mind link. I nod my head.

The first wolf snarls and leaps at Jay, who meets him in the middle and unsheaths his claws as he swipes them across the wolf's face. Run, Petra. Jay says. I nod and turn around to take off running. A wolf was running after me. This one smaller than the others. He flashed in front of me and growled. I backed up. The wolf lunged at me, I ducked and rolled away.

But the wolf still managed to make a scar on my mid back. I screamed in pain but got up and kept running. The wolf yelped and stopped chasing me. I turned to see Jay get mauled over by another wolf. I turn my head back around and run, tears streaming down my face.

That was the last time I saw my brother.

~End of Flashback~

I frowned at the memory. I hadn't noticed I'd been crying. I sigh and walk out of the pack house and towards the forest. Once I'm deep enough in, I strip and tie my clothes to my foot, and shift into Isa.
