When my eyes popped open, I couldn't see anything. The place we were in was really dark, and I couldn't make out anything in the darkness.

I squinted and turned my head, but I still couldn't see anything. I couldn't even make out the shape of Bear, whom I hoped was still in here.

"Bear," I whispered, waiting for an answer. When I didn't hear one, I decided to try again.

After my tenth try, I heard a door being opened. Shutting up, I quickly closed my eyes and pretended to be asleep again.

"Get up, sexy. I know you're not asleep." Deciding to just do what the voice asked, I opened my eyes and saw some light, which outlined Lucas' face. "Hello, gorgeous," Lucas grinned. "How was your sleep?"

I continued to stare at Lucas, not saying anything.

"Come on. Aren't you going to say something? Anything?"

I remained quiet, looking straight ahead.

Lucas rolled his eyes, leaning back in his chair. I have something to say, I heard someone say.

Looking at Lucas' face, I noticed that he hadn't heard anything. That only meant one thing...

Connor! I yelled into my own head. My voice echoed and I could feel a headache forming, but it was worth it. Connor. Bear and I have been kidnapped. I'm not sure where we are. I could hear my voice becoming frantic, and my breath started to become thick and heavy, causing me to have troubles breathing.

Calm down, Connor ordered me. Just breathe. I tried to draw in a breath of air, but I only just choked on the thickness of it.

"Connor," I breathed out, my throat burning with lack of air.

"Connor?" I heard Lucas echo my words. "Who the hell is that?"

I tried to speak again, but the words got caught in my dry throat. I could feel my panic attack growing in size, ready to take away any breath that was left in my lungs.

"Mia?" I heard Lucas' voice in my ear. "Mia! Are you okay?"

Breathe, Mia, I heard Connor say. Take a breath in and let one out. I tried to do what he said, but I couldn't manage to breathe in any air. Focus on my voice, Mia. I did just that, focusing on the softness of his words. Okay. Now do what I tell you to do. Can you do that? I tried to nod, though I don't know whether or not I succeeded in it. Either way, Connor continued. Breathe in through your nose. It took a while, but I soon felt a rush of fresh air enter my nose. Good. Now let it out through your mouth. I did just that, feeling the air run out of my mouth. Okay. Just keep repeating the both of them.

I kept breathing in through my nose and out through my mouth, feeling myself calm down a whole lot. When I could breathe again, I focused in on Lucas. I gave him my best death glare, hoping to scare him. "Let Bear and I go," I ordered him in a threatening voice. "Let us go now and we won't tell anyone."

Lucas looked up at me, a look of relief on his face. "I see that you're okay," he said, his voice mirroring the look on his face.

Can you help Bear and I? I asked Connor, still glaring at Lucas.

I'm on my way now, he replied. I'll be there in a few minutes.

After that, I didn't hear from Connor, but something told me he was going to stick to his word. Suddenly, I heard a commotion from upstairs. "Lucas!" I heard his friend scream out. "You might wanna come up here right now, dude."

Lucas, seeming exasperated, rolled his eyes. "Stay right here," he ordered me, and I was forced to bite my tongue to hold back a smartass response.
