Once I came to, I heard a pounding on the bathroom door. "Mia," I heard a voice yell out from the other side of the door. "Mia!"
"I'm...I'm coming," I managed to stutter out. I slowly climbed to my feet, wobbling a little bit once I was standing. After my breakdown, I must have fallen asleep on the floor.
I walked towards the door, my pace very slow. I opened it and was greeted by my mother, Bear and Connor.
"Sweetheart, are you okay?" It was my mother who asked this question, but I couldn't answer her. I was too busy staring at Connor, who was staring intently at me. "Mia?"
I turned to my mother. "Yes?" I asked sharply, immediately regretting it. "Sorry."
My mum smiled softly. "It's okay." She walked to me and engulfed me in a hug, stroking my hair as I went limp in her grip. I started to sob, my head buried deep into her shoulder. "What's wrong, honey," I heard my mother's voice coo.
Sniffling, I murmured, "Nothing", though I knew that my mum knew that I was lying. I stood up straight and looked at my mum. "Could I have a second to clean up?"
Mum nodded and shooed everyone out. Once the door was closed, I looked into the mirror. My mascara and eyeliner from today was smudged, and my face was blotchy from crying. I looked like total shit.
Mia, I heard someone say. I looked around, only to realize that the voice I had heard was in my head. It was Connor.
Oh, no...
Go away, I thought. Please.
Mia, sweetheart, are you okay?
Go away now. I don't want to talk to you. Get out of my house!
I got no answer, but there was a knock on the bathroom door. "Mia? Are you alright?"
Walking over to the door, I opened it to reveal Bear. I smiled at her slightly, the expression obviously fake. "I'm fine," I whispered.
Bear shook her head. "That's a lie." She cocked her head to one side. "Now be honest."
"It's nothing. Seriously. Can you just drop it?" I stormed out at that point, barging straight past my caring friend and hitting her shoulder.
I marched into my room, slamming my door closed. I grabbed the closest thing to me -a stuffed bear- and threw it at the wall, letting out a yell. "Stupid Connor," I screamed, kicking my bed. "Stupid feelings." Another bed kick. "Stupid, stupid power!" I yelled out, punching my wall. The punch did no damage to the wall, but it did hurt my hand.
Cradling my fist, I slid down the wall to the floor. I raised my knees to my chest, resting my head upon them. I felt like crying, but there was no tears that came out. I was completely empty on the inside. I couldn't feel anything. I was numb.
I heard a knock upon my bedroom door, so I got up to answer it, expecting it to be Bear. But once the wooden slab opened, I saw that it was Connor. "Go away," I growled. "Go away. Now!"
Connor shook his head and closed the door, walking towards me. I kept walking backwards until my back suddenly hit the wall. Connor kept advancing upon me, so I struck out. I swung my open-handed palm towards him and hit his cheek. He looked a little dumbstruck, but then he smiled.
"Awe. Was that meant to hurt me?" I said nothing, which caused Connor to smile even more.
The black haired man kept walking until he was face to face with me, our bodies touching with every breath that we took. Well, that I took. Was it then that I noticed that Connor wasn't breathing. Was he holding his breath so that our bodies didn't touch? Was he just holding it for fun?
"Please go away," I whispered, my voice wavering.
Again, this caused him to smile very widely. "I do not think so, sweetie. You see, this is the only alone time that I will get with you." Connor must have seen my confusion, because he added, "Your mother has taken Bear to go get stuff from her house."
All this information caused me to breathe faster. I was here alone with Connor? There was no one here to protect me from him!
Connor's arms shot out, his hands on either side of my head. "So. Are you okay?"
I gritted my teeth, trying to hide my fear from him. "Go away."
The black haired stallion chuckled and sighed in frustration. "You don't really want me to go."
He was right. I really didn't want him to go.
One of Connor's hands dropped and landed on my shoulder, causing me to shiver in response. His hand traveled down to my hand, his own hand grasping it. He looked into my eyes, his eyes showing a dark blue with a tint of...crimson?
"Your eyes," I mentioned, gasping as the red spread.
Connor closed his eyes. Once they were opened, I let out a little scream. Red. His eyes were red! A deep, dark red.
I felt my own eyes widen in shock, my body becoming rigid as Connor pressed his own body against mine. He leaned down, his lips on my neck. I fought to get free, but he let out a deep growl. One that sounded like it belonged to an animal.
Trembles ran through my body, giving me goosebumps. There was a sharp pain in my neck, and I let out a yell of pain. However, the pain was over in seconds, Connor pulling away as soon as it stopped.
There was blood on his lips, dripping from the corners of his mouth. His two top canine teeth were elongated, the tips red.
"C-Connor?" I stuttered, watching as he lifted his hand, grabbed my shirt, and ripped it off. He then pushed me onto my bed, my head hitting the wall. He made that growl again as he jumped from his spot that was about two meters from the bed. He landed on the mattress, straddling me as he ripped my bra from my body. "Connor!" I screamed out loud. "Please stop!" My sobs were stopped by his lips being placed on mine roughly.
He pulled away, tearing my shorts off, followed by my panties. Connor placed his hand on my neck and slid it down my chest and to my stomach. He glided his fingers across my skin, looking back up to my neck.
Swallowing sharply, Connor licked his lips and looked down to my bare thighs. His gaze drunk me up, and he bowed his neck to place his lips on the top of my thighs. He kissed across my hipbones, lowering further down to my inner thighs. I started to freak out and cry more.
I began to throw myself around, trying to get free of him. He held me down with one hand, his strength pinning me down. Once I screamed out, I felt a sharp pain on the inside of my thigh. I went silent, no noise coming out of my gaping mouth.
Connor quickly sat up, his eyes wide and back to being blue. "Mia," he gasped, his soft blue eyes roaming over my exposed body. "I-I'm so sorry. I don't know what came over me." Tears were still streaming down my face, the pain in my neck and thigh dulling. "Forgive me." Connor jumped up at that time, running towards my window. "Mia, I am really sorry."
I pulled myself up into a seating position, trying to cover my exposed bits. Connor looked at me with one more look of regret and disappeared out the window in silence. I stared after him, confusion hitting me like a freight train.
What the hell had just happened?
