Hey all! So I'm going to try & write this one shot in a few parts. It's going to be like Romeo & Juliet, hence the title. Idk about the ending yet so don't be mad at me. I haven't figured that out yet. It's going to be in both Gerard & Frank's Point of View. I hope I can write this well enough. Hope you enjoy! -Aly
Gerard Way's P.O.V.
Living the life of a rich, attractive & ambitious young teenage boy had it's perks. Yes, you can have whatever it is you desire. But sometimes what you desire the most, becomes the most difficult to grasp. And in Gerard Way's world, finding his desire was going to have severe consequences.
It was a time of love and a time of hate. You were free to fall in love with any of whom you chose just not of a rival. But of course Gerard would have to deal with the repercussions later on.
You see, the Way family and the Iero family were modern rivals. They had been this way since years before his parents were even born. No one really spoke of the true reason behind it. That's just how he was brought up in life, absolutely despising the Iero family.
He had no idea why he and his family were meant to hate them. Every time he would ask one of them, he would get the same sadistic response. "Gerard, they hate us and we hate them. Got it?" And they would leave the room, rolling their eyes, leaving Gerard alone to ponder with his thoughts.
"But please, I don't want to hate them! I don't even know them! They could be good people! We need to give them a chance!" Gerard yelled at their house cleaner, Helena, who obviously wasn't listening to the young boy cry about his problems.
She had problems too, you know? Like who would clean this gigantic 3 story house, hmm?
"I just want to understand, why? Can you please just tell me that? They truly can't be bad people." He said grabbing Helena's arm trying to get her attention.
"I'm not allowed to say anything Gerard. And you know that. It's just always been this way." She said getting out of Gerard's grip. She turned on her heels and left the room to clean the downstairs. She also had to prepare for the ball they were hosting later on that evening.
Gerard tried to understand why. He didn't know why he was brought up all of his life to hate these people. "They truly couldn't be bad people, could they?" He thought to himself whilst looking out of the 3rd story window.
The gusts of wind were making the leaves fall rapidly off of the trees next to the window. He saw how free they were as they fell hopelessly to the ground. "One day, I'm going to find my true love. And we will leave this daunting place one way oranother. I promise." He said smiling.
He began dreaming of a world of peace. Where everyone was friends with each other. Why couldn't that be how it was now? "Why can't I go out and have fun? And be a normal teenager? I hate being stuck in this house all the time. I want friends and I want a relationship!" He said slamming his fist on the wall. Helena came bursting in the room as fast as she could to see what had happened. "Nothing Helena. I'm fine. I promise." She just nodded and left without a word.
"I guess I should be getting ready for this stupid party." He said rolling his eyes as he headed towards his wardrobe. He picked out a tailored black suit with a vibrant red tie. He stepped back and admired himself in the mirror, his reflection staring back at him. He tried desperately to hide his upset face. But he couldn't.
Everything seemed to go pretty well together. He smiled at himself before putting on the needed amount of eyeliner and brushed his hair. He was to wait until 9:30 to come down, per parents request.
