You never realize how quickly certain things can happen in your life. One minute you're taking everyone's orders at your job at the coffee shop. And another minute you're having your first kiss on the swings in the park at midnight. It only takes one tiny glance for everything to change.

Gerard's P.O.V.

"Alright mom! I have to go to work. I'll see you soon!" I said as I grabbed my apron, car keys and phone and walked out the door to Starbucks.

It wasn't that bad of a job actually. You get to meet so many people and hear their stories about life. And you get discounts on coffee as much as you want! How sweet it that!?

I got into my small black car and began driving to work. I turned on the radio and let that play throughout the car ride. It was rather peaceful. Which was my favorite. I could always think on my drives. I'd just stare at the road and think about everything and nothing.

I quickly realized I had pulled up to Starbucks as the last song finished. I parked in my usual spot near the back, and turned the car off. I sat there for a few minutes dreading going inside. That was the worst part. I just hated it because when you walk in, a bell goes off and everyone knows someone is walking in so they turn and watch you. It's the worst feeling ever.

I groggily opened the door and stepped out onto the pavement below. I looked down and noticed my shoes. "I really need new converse. Damn." I grabbed my belongings and shut the door. Then the lovely walk to the door. I grabbed the handle and slowly opened it, hoping not the ring the bell.

*DING. DING.*

Well shit.

Just as suspected, everyone turned and watched me as I walked inside the coffee place. I quickly walked behind the counter to calm myself. I threw my stuff in the locker and went back out front.

"Gee, you've got some orders. Get to it." Patrick said as he walked past me and into his office. Patrick was the manager. Whatever he says goes.

"Yes sure. I'm on it."

My job was to take the orders and my friend Ray who also worked there, would make the coffees. It was nice working with your friend. You didn't have that awkward feeling of being alone in the world.

I reached the counter and sure enough I had about 10 or so people lined up. It's going to be a very busy day.

About 4 hours or so later, I was getting tired of everything. The rude people mostly. They would nag and nag and nag about literally everything you could think of. If I could just block them out I would.

It was almost time to clock out when I heard the familiar bell going off at the door. I didn't see the person since I was cleaning Rays mess from earlier. He tried making a vanilla bean frappe for these two collage girls and he got so flustered that he spilled it everywhere. Ray was so embarrassed that he ran in the back and hadn't come out since.

As I was cleaning I heard a quiet yet polite "excuse me sir. I'd like to order if that's alright. If you're busy I can come back tomorrow." Whoever it was had the sweetest voice on earth. With just the right amount of manliness and a touch of cuteness.

I turned with a smile on my face "Hi. I'm sorry about the wait. I had to clean someone's mess." I sent Ray a glare through the window. He saw me and flung his head down in despair.
