Blind with eyesight

Have you ever seen how her eyes shine
when your smile lights up the room,
or do your eyes yearn for another sight,
a different star from what you have?

Have you ever known all the worlds
that she made with her mind?
She wants to be in any place
as long as she's with you.

Have you ever held her hands so tight,
her hands that always made all art?
Or were you too busy holding your pride
and you couldn't bear to let it go.

Did you ever love her at all with all your heart,
for who she is and who she will be?
Did you ever love her at all
Or were you too busy trying to find someone else?

And now you left her,
and she's left with seas of tears.
She stands alone on empty streets
hearing the clock just tick to 3.

"Was I ever enough for you?"
These thoughts began to haunt.
"Did I ever have a place inside your heart
or was I just another toy above your shelf?"

Her knees are scraped, her feet are aching;
it was hurting to move on.
But she knew it would be good for her
and she never gave up.

Time would pass
and you'll both be better,
both learning from lessons,
both learning from truths.

But you know what?
You should've known
who she really was.

You were too busy looking
for the moon
when you already had
the universe in your arms.
