His tears were enigmatic
Unlit as a starless night sky
He cried out the darkness, the void
Feeding from his stomach and
Crawling on his throat
Only for them to touch his lips,
Fade into his hands,
And mark his cheeks
To return to his body.
The shadows inside him
Had something to feed off of,
Had something to make it bigger.
They grew stronger and stronger
While tears kept flowing
more and more.
