Chapter 4

They pulled into the driveway and Harry told Emma to park in the garage.  They walked into his house and sat down.

“Do you want something to drink?” he asked.

“A bottle of tequila?” she asked, throwing him a look.

“No more liquor for you tonight.”

”Hazzah, come on.  What do I have to live for anyway?”

“A lot! Now go into the bathroom and take a hot bath.”  She stood up and gave him a mock salute.

“Yes sir!” she said sarcastically.  He shook his head as she headed down the hallway.    He picked up his cell and dialed a number.

“Hello?”

“Louis, why are you answering Zayn’s phone?”

“Eleanor and I are gonna stay the night with him.  He’s not in too good of shape right now.”  Harry breathed a sigh of relief.  At least he wouldn’t be alone tonight.

“That’s good.  Thanks Lou.”

“Well, come on Harry.  He and Emma are family.”

“I know.  Is he drinking?”

“No,  Eleanor is holding him right now and he’s crying.”

“Damn!”

“If you find Emma, call us okay?”

“You know I will. Bye.”  You are such a liar Styles he thought to himself.  He threw down his phone and went into the kitchen to make something to drink.

Emma lowered herself into Harry’s giant tub that was filled with bubbles.  She had made it nice and hot and steamy.  The minute she was settled, her mind drifted to Zayn.  The bubble baths they would take.  The countless hours of caressing and kissing spent in the tub.  The hours of making love in the tub.  God how she loved him.  Tears rose in her eyes again.  She couldn’t think about that now.  She needed to call their lawyer in the morning.  She needed to proceed with a divorce.  It was her only option.  She wanted Zayn to be happy.  Be happy with someone that could give him a child.  She looked up as the door opened and Harry walked in with a big mug in his hand.  She sat up and he handed it to her.  She took a drink and looked at him.

“Spiking my coffee Harry?” she asked with a smirk.

“It’s to help you sleep.”  She took another drink and set it on the edge of the tub.

“Quit watching me.” She said.

“You wanna tell me what the doctor said?” he asked coming around behind her.

“No. I don’t want to talk about it.”

“You have to Emma.  And you have to talk to Zayn.”  He picked up the washcloth and began to wash her back.

“I will.  Just not anytime soon.  I have things to do.”

“Like what?”

“I have to go and find a place to live.

“For what? You have a home.  A home with Zayn.” he dropped the washcloth and sat on the side of the tub.  She couldn’t look at him.  “Em, look at me.”

She lifted her head as the tears began to fall once again.  “Not anymore I don’t.”  Harry stood up and grabbed a towel.

“Come on, get out or you’re gonna be a prune.”  She stood up and he wrapped her in the towel.  

She wasn’t ashamed of being nude in front of him.  He had seen her many times before.  He picked up the coffee and took her hand as they walked down the hallway to the guest room.

“There’s one of my shirts for you to sleep in.  Get some sleep and we’ll get you home to Zayn tomorrow.”  He bent down and kissed her on the lips.

“Harry?”

“Yeah?” he turned back to her.

“Why didn’t we work out? Us I mean.”

“Because Zayn was waiting for you.”  He turned and walked to his bedroom.  Emma went into the guest room and crawled into bed.  Not even bothering to put on the shirt Harry had given to her to use.  She was tired, but couldn’t sleep.  She tossed and turned.  Finally giving up she got out of bed and walked across the hallway.  She looked at his sleeping form.  But somehow she knew he wasn’t asleep.

“Harry?”

“Do you need something Em?” he asked.  Somehow she had always known when he wasn’t sleeping.

“Harry, will you please hold me?”  he sighed and reached out for her hand.  She crawled in next to him and he spooned behind her, pulling her close.  She humphed to herself.  He still slept naked.

“What?” he asked into her hair.

“You still sleep in the buff.”

“So do you.  Go to sleep Emma.”
