Everyone arrived early to help pitch in. Zayn and Emma were amazed at what everyone brought.

Food, drinks, gifts. You name it, they brought it.

Zayn set up the grill and began cooking the meat. The kitchen was ablaze with activity as the women made salads, desserts.

Niall and Liam tried to sneak some bites but were promptly ushered out of the kitchen and onto the deck with the rest of the men.

“What’s the matter Niall? Em kick you out again?” Zayn asked with a laugh.

“No, this time it was Bethany.” he said with a smirk.

Everyone around him roared with laughter. They all knew that Niall had liked Bethany for the longest time.

“Hey sis, can I talk to you?” Bethany asked Emma.

“Sure, let me dry my hands.” Emma quickly dried her hands and followed her sister into the living room.

“I’m moving back to England.”

“Why?” Emma asked. Bethany began to pace. She turned and looked at her sister. Tears in her eyes.

“Because I can’t stand to be so far away from you. And now, with everything that is going on. I just need to be closer to you. Are you mad?”

Emma’s eyes filled with tears. She loved her sister so much and now she was willing to quit her job to be close to her.

“Why would I be mad?”

“Because you always told me to go for it. Live my life and have fun. Well, to be honest. I’m not having fun in L.A.”

“What about your friends?”

“They only care about who I know or what I could get for them.”

“I’m sorry.”

“I’m not. So um, you wouldn’t mind your little sister being around?”

Emma pulled her into a hug and held her tight. “I would love it. And if you need a place to stay until you find your own, the guest house is empty.”

“I thought Niall stayed there sometimes.”

“Well,” Emma said with a smirk. “It does have two bedrooms.” Bethany playfully slapped Emma’s arm.

“Is your mind always in the gutter?” They were both laughing and crying at the same time. Both of them not knowing how long they would have together.

“I got it!” Emma yelled as the volleyball came down towards her.

An impromptu game had been pulled together.

She felt full of energy and didn’t want to sit out. It was girls against guys.

Zayn opted to sit out and was visiting with his parents on the deck. Watching his wife jump all over and laugh.

He turned away from the game and was about to say something to him mom.

“ZAYN!” he heard his named being screamed by Harry from the beach.

He looked over and saw Emma laying on the ground. She wasn’t moving.
