"You...what?" Hiccup asked, approaching me. He took a seat next to me on the bed, resulting in an eerie creak to emerge from it.
His eyes were confused and concerned as always. The exact reason why I was always able to come to him for anything. The exact reason he was my best friend.
"I have to save Jack." I whispered, staring him straight in the eye. "It's the only way to make him and Jamie happy."
He watched me with a blank face for a few seconds, seemingly lost with what I was saying. Maybe Jamie didn't explain to him what was going on?
I took a deep breath before I explained everything that had happened when Jamie locked me in his room. From the moment he almost killed me to when he showed me his secret.
Hiccup sighed, massaging his temples with his thumb and forefinger. He seemed at lost for words, as if he had no idea how to respond to my predicament.
After a little while of more silence, Hiccup finally raised his head and placed a kiss against my forehead. "I think you should get some rest."
"What?" I forced out, watching him lift up from my bed and head towards the door. He turned to look at me a second whilst he stood in front of the door. His face was serious and he clenched the doorknob in his palms. "Elsa you shouldn't do this. You could die."
"If I don't do this Jamie will be taken over! I can't let that happen!" I yelled, standing up from my seated place on the bed.
"If you do this you'll be taken over; and with your powers you cannot be taken without a cost!" He yelled back. I was taken back by what he was saying. Hiccup would put me before his own family?
"YOU DON'T GET IT DO YOU! HE'S A CHILD HE DOESN'T DESERVE THIS!" I know, I should have been happy that he loved me that much. But this was Jamie we were talking about. A sweet, innocent boy who should be able to love his life freely. If I lost mine so be it. At least I'd be able to save the ones I care about. "HE DESERVES A HAPPIER AND FREE LIFE! A LIFE WITHOUT JACK IN IT! HE'LL FINALLY BE HAPPY!"
"ELSA IF YOU DIE, THEN I'M FORCED TO LIVE A LIFE WITHOUT YOU IN IT!" Hiccup screamed from the other side of the room, his fists getting pale. I flinched from his remark, feeling as if I giant weight was now placed on my shoulders. Who's happiness did I care about most? His or Jamie's?
Hiccup sighed before closing the door. The only thing that could be heard other than his footsteps against the wooden floor was when he muttered, "And I'd never smile again."
~*~*~
I aimlessly tapped away at my cellphone. I had absolutely nothing to do. My mind was so lost over the whole Jack situation, as if every single thing I thought somehow magically found a way to connect to my issue. And frankly, I was getting sick of it.
"I need food. Food is my only friend right now," I whispered to myself, tossing my phone down onto my bed and pulling on some shorts and a tang top from my drawer.
I opened my door to be met with the smell of...chocolate?! Oh the advantages of having a one story house!
I walked down the little hallway that led to the kitchen. A smile stretched across my face when I saw a rope, backpack, and some pancakes topped with ice cream and a bowl of fruit waiting at the side. A note sat on the table next to all the items.
Dear Elsa,
I know your mad at me. Considering you haven't spoken to me since last night and haven't even left the house or messed up my daily routine. I don't know why that made me sad considering I always tell you to stop...
