Your dead meat. Jack said through our mind connection, causing me to throw a glare his way. Yeah cause I definitely didn't know that. I said sarcastically gritting my teeth. He held his hands up in surrender while I turned to face the she-devil.

"Let me guess. Tooth was being mean to you so you decided that you were going to sabotage her."

My words were caught in my throat, and I hesitated to say anything. I just sat there, my mouth opening and closing like a goldfish. How'd she know?

Pain scoffed, grabbing me by the vest and lifting me up. My legs ended up above the ground since she was taller than me, and she was breathing right in my face. Fright took over, and I could do nothing but stare into her cold eyes. "I do not tolerate the use of magic in here. Chosen one or not."

"Chosen one?" I nervously laughed, slightly shaking my head. "You've got to be kidding me."

"I already told you. I know everything about everyone. And I mean everything." Pain's eyes told me that she knew something, something not even I know to be precise.

Pain gave me one more glare before letting go of my vest, causing me to drop to the ground. I sat there with my head hung. There's something about me that I don't know...

My hair color slowly changed from platinum blonde to red. I stared it in shock for a second seeing as the color spread throughout my hair. I lifted my head to see Jack's staff glowing blue, meaning he was about to use it. He looked back and forth, growling before speed running along the walls. The whole place froze over, including the doors, looking everyone in.

He flew to the center of the room, ignoring the screams of everyone who had no clue what was going on.

I watched as he swung his staff at Pain, knocking her off her feet and onto the floor.

"MS. DELLE!" She yelled, trying and failing to get up. Jack closed his eyes, freezing every single person but me and Pain.

He placed his staff on her head. "Never. Touch her again." He warned. I didn't know whether or not she could hear him, but I wasn't able to ask before she froze over like everyone else.

The color on my hair returned to platinum blonde, and Jack's staff wasn't glowing anymore whilst he approached me. "Let's go."

He grabbed me by the wrist, dragging me out of the building. Once we were out, he quickly walked away. "See you tomorrow."

"Now just you wait." I began, but he continued as if he didn't hear me. I quickly grabbed my book and swirled my finger. "Jack doesn't want to listen to me, grab his legs so he can't flee." I recited, pointing my fingers towards the vines. They twisted around Jack's legs and arms, holding him in place.

I sighed in relief, putting my book where it belongs and taking a stand in front of Jack. "What is wrong with you?"

"What's that supposed to mean."

"You know exactly what I mean. You froze over the whole building," I pointed to it, "and everyone in there."

"So?" He said, his emotions leaving his face. I watched in agony. Why is he always like this?

"I don't understand you." I mumbled, shaking my head. He gave me an empty laugh. "Neither do I. So can you let me out."

I shook my head, resting my palm on his shoulder. "Your better than this."

He frowned, freezing the vines and shattering them in the process before walking away. His hands were in his pockets and he didn't say a word as he disappeared in the distance.
