"What are you still doing here? Don't you have volunteering to do?" I heard someone ask. I snuggled my face closer into the soft material of my beloved pillow.
"And what are you hugging?"
My soft material suddenly didn't seem too appealing to me anymore. My eyes opened so fast that you'd think I had heard the ticking of a bomb. Ignoring the streak in my eye, I stared wide eyed at the thing in front of me.
More like creature.
That is alive.
And breathing.
"I've done a bad." I said under my breath, taking note of Jack's peaceful expression and the arm he had sprawled in front of him under my head. And don't think I didn't notice the sneaky little hand that had slipped under my shirt and rested on the base of my back. Talk about awkwardly comfortable.
It was a while after my surprise wake up that I noticed my bandages were taken off and my cuts were healed. I wonder if it was the same spirit that healed Ariel's bruises. Even though it must have been extremely inconvenient to see Jack and I in such position. Not to forget that they probably know him, evidence from the swarms of people who surrounded him when he dropped by the spirit castle building place.
"You're doing it again," Chase said in a slightly weirded out tone, setting himself down on my desk.
I watched Jack for a second, having an inward battle in my head. Speaking of, I really do need to cut down on the amount of times I have them.
Anyways I was thinking about whether or not I should try sneaking my way out. I needed Jack to come to training with me since its been a lot more frantic the more people who are after me. And considering that I'm absolutely useless when I'm scared, I'd need some sort of protection.
"Uh, Chase can you, get me some tea?" I said the first excuse for him to leave that came to mind. Chase groaned, rolling his eyes and sliding off the table. 'Love you too' were the last words I'm sure he heard me say as he walked out the room.
"And as for you," I tapped sleeping Jack's nose, making it scrunch up. Maybe if I had known that sleepy Jack was way more manageable I'd drug normal Jack so that I could be with him more. I mean, he'll wake up with unbelievable headaches all the time, but a cute little Jackie boy is not something you see often. More like once in a blue moon.
No, once in a lifetime.
"Up we go," I lifted my head off of his arm, holding it up and tossing it onto him. Surprisingly, he was still sound asleep, so I used that opportunity to lift his hand off my back.
"Leave it." I heard Jack's groggy morning voice say, making me raise an eyebrow. Not only does he seem more calm in the morning, but he sounds so different. His voice went down so many levels that I would sign him up to be one of those soothing voices you hear talk you too sleep. I'd make big bucks seeing how many girls would probably pay to hear it.
"Jack I need to go to training."
"But I'm comfortable." He said softly, nuzzling his head into the crook of my neck. The tickling feeling of his hair and his breathing against my skin was enough to form goosebumps.
"But I'm not, and frankly I don't want to be chased by police for not completing this mission."
"We can fly can't we. We'd go as far as we can go."
"Ah yes. And there will be a pot of gold waiting for us. In the jail cell."
"Why is there gold in a jail cell?" He questioned, pulling his head back a bit so he could look at me. I narrowed my eyes at him. "It was a very fancy jail."
