After a good rest, I woke up with the absence of Chase's presence, even after I felt around multiple times thinking he was just a few feet away.
Mornings have never been my strong point, we all know that. I wanted to look for him, but my mind disagreed. Actually, every part of me other than a little nagging in the back of my head disagreed.
So you could imagine how much I groaned in annoyance when I decided to look for him.
I pushed open the tent, being met with the beautiful rising sun in front of the ocean. I inhaled the smell of grass, exhaling and walking towards the little hill in front of the lake.
Finding Chase can wait.
I smiled up at the sky, not worrying about all the critters that could quite possibly be planning their attack. Frankly, this was most likely going to be one of the rare moments where I get to see a sunrise. I won't let it go to waste.
Different shades of oranges and yellows decorated the sky. The sun sat in the middle of it all, taking its sweet time to enter it's job for the day. Illuminating the sky.
A pair of arms snuck around my waist, someone resting their head on my shoulder soon after.
Streak.
I relaxed in Chase's embrace, sighing as I did so. Our hair mixed together whilst the wind blew them in gentle waves.
"Beautiful isn't it?" He whispered in my ear, nodding his head in front of us.
"It is. I've never seen the sun rise before." I replied honestly, only slightly shrugging my shoulders. Chase hummed in response. There was a calm silence while we just watched the sun come out.
Chase finally broke the silence, "Want to follow me hunting?"
Hunting. Hunting as in using a gun and shooting things in hope that I don't somehow end up shooting myself?
Heck no!
I laughed, pulling out of Chase's arms and turning to look at him. His expression was confused and his eyebrows raised.
Clearly he saw this as nothing but wanting to teach someone how to hunt. I on the other hand saw this as a call for trouble. Something I keep getting myself into lately.
"What's so funny?"
"The fact that you think these arms are ever going to come in contact with a gun!"
"Then we'll use a butter knife."
I gave him the face that said one simple four letter word.
Bruh.
"Come on at least follow me."
I sighed, rubbing my temples. This wasn't exactly one of my likes. Basically, I was fully against this idea.
But this was Chase. He's done plenty of stuff for me and it wouldn't be bad if for once in my life I returned the favor. I'm sure I've been a huge pain to deal with for the past year and few weeks, yet somehow he put up with it.
This man deserves an award.
"Fine," I finaled, rolling my eyes. "I'll go."
I was lip-locked with Chase the minute I finished my sentence, his arms wrapped tightly around my waist and the kiss radiating his happiness. I kissed back after comprehending what was going on.
"Have I ever told you that you're the best girlfriend in the world?"
I smiled, flipping my hair and making him chuckle before kissing me again.
