I pulled Percy along, and when we turned at a corner I halted to suddenly Percy bumped onto me.
"Whoa hey what- damn," Percy muttered, looking at Dr. Gottschalk up and down.
"What do you want?" snarled Jason, stepping up to him, folding his arms. Dr. Gottschalk smiled cruelly, actually it was beyond cruel- it was evil.
"Well.....I would want you to stay out of Thalia's way, of course. And if you guys are trying to find the antidote, I think you should think twice, because you guys will never find it."
"What makes you think so?" said a voice from behind. I turned around, and saw Lyte folding her arms, challenging Dr. Gottschalk. Leo was beside her, his eyes showed drowsiness, but he tried not to show it. Dr. Gottschalk's eyes narrowed into thin slits.
"You can try to find it, but your search will be futile." He growled, and stormed away in frustration. Lyte walked up to us, and asked, "You guys okay? I heard that you guys were quarrelling with that madman."
"Yeah....we're fine, but we....." Jason whispered our plan to her. Her eyes widened in terror.
"Wh- How- Why-" she stammered, trying to figure out our plan. I rested a reassuring hand on her shoulders.
"Don't worry, Lyte. If she doesn't want to change back to her usual self, we have to other choice. Is either she kill me and be happy going all the earth to kill all the shapeshifters for that scientist, or we kill her and the other shapeshifters in the world will be fine." I reasoned. Her eyes were in a daze, trying to digest whatever I had just told her. Finally, she took a shaky breath and nodded.
"Good. Now let's go and find her and the cure. This place's big, with many doors, and we only have four days left to finish the quest." Jason piped in.
"Actually, I'm already here, Percy Jackson and friends." Thalia announced from behind. We turned our heads, facing her.
"That's good. You wanna do it the hard way, or the easy way?" I smirked. I am quite shocked to see Thalia's eyes turning icy gold, and her hair pure silver, it has never happened to her like this before. A blue diamond shpaed like crystal hung on her neck, glowing luminously. She caught me staring at her and touched her necklace.
"Oh this? It is a potion for me to sustain my power." She explained.
"So I'm waiting for your answer." She said.
"Hard way."
And we charged.
