Chapter 24: Percy and Lyte

I felt the fire spreading to my body, the flames licking my clothes, my skin, and the flames felt like acid to my skin. Burning my body. I collapsed to the floor, grimacing in pain. Yellow spots appeared in my eyes, and my vision blurred. I saw Percy ran towards me, holding my head in his arms. I tried to get away from him, not wanting the flames to spread to him. But the flames didn't spread. It remained 'stuck' to my body. For once, I wished I could reborn, so I could hold Percy's handsome face, looking into his sea blue eyes, feeling his soft face, hearing his laughter, that always make me smile. That always make my day brighter, better. I love him. I cannot bear to lose him.

"Lyte, why did you do this? Please don't die, don't. I love you," I heard Percy whisper beside my ear, cuddling my head into his arms.

I'm gonna reborn again, Percy. And I love you too. I thought, closing my eyes.

I landed on the floor, and saw Lyte standing in front of the fire breathing Thalia, blowing fire right in her face. Then she grunted and faced me, "We'll see again, hero." And stalked off.

"Noooo! Lyte!" I shouted, angry and heart-broken at the same time. I got up and crawled towards her, carrying her head in my arms. Her body was on fire, but it didn't spread to my body. Weird. Her skin wasn't burned either. But the heat was very hot, burning my eyes. She faced me, her face writhing in pain. She tried to gasp for air, and wanted to say something but she couldn't open her mouth.

"Lyte, why did you do this? Please don't die, don't. I love you," I whispered, tears streaming down her face. She closed her eyes. "No, no!" I shook her, but she didn't wake up.

Your going to pay for this, Thalia Grace. I'm going down hard on you. Real hard.
