Chapter 7: The Making of Weapons

Everyone got to work. The boys carried the metal to where the machine was, and Uncle Tommy pressed a button. The machine roared to life, and the razor-sharp knives began to saw the big metal into half, and it started to cut it further into smaller, thin pieces. When the metal parts broke apart, all it was left was a thin, warrior-like knife. Everyone clapped, amazed by how the machine - so old, rusty yet it can make an ordinary ton of metal and shape it into a sword. The sight was just amazing to watch.

Everyone took turns making swords, spears, arrows of all kinds- long, short, thin, broad, but all have one thing in common- all of them were very sharp, and pointed.

We so made some archery target sheets out of strong cardboard and covers for the swords. We figured out that Reece and Wilson are excellent painters- so we asked them to design the sword covers and the archery target sheets.

Evening came, and we were finally done making all the swords and arrows. Chloe and Rebecca made fire while Vincent and Wilson helped Uncle Tommy to make dinner. Everyone sat around the fire, chatting happily.

"I present to you, chef Vincent and Wilson for making dinner!" Uncle Tommy announced, and I chuckled. I got up to serve the plates, and I tried the food. The beef was soft, tender and delicious. The salad was crunchy, and juicy. Everyone had a great time eating and laughing together.

This is my home, I thought.

My new family, my new home.

Laughing, playing, training, sleeping together.

We will fight the monsters and defend for each other.
