"So you're asking me if I'm free for lunch today?"I question Brent as I switch out my different books.
"Gabby"he whines
I laugh "I'm totally free" he smiles
"Great,I'll pick you up after football practice"I nod closing my locker.
"Where do I meet you?"
"Just wait for me by the cafeteria doors"I nod
He checks his phone "Gotta run,Coach hates it when I'm late"I nod,he kisses my cheek before running down the hallway.
Ever since we had our first kiss,we've been giving each other a kiss on the cheek or forehead or something like that.I turn on my heel looking for my best friend.
Just as I had hoped she comes around the corner talking to none other than Brennan.Those two,I swear.
I walk up to the two,laughing "Lucy,can I borrow you for a second?"I interpret their conversation.
I get a chance to look at the two's outfit,their matching and I don't think that was suppose to happen.
Brennan was wearing Adidas pants,Nike shoes,a plain white v neck shirt.Lucy was wearing a black and white skirt,a plain white crop top,and black combat boots.
"Is it important?"she questions.
"Shark"her face tilts in confusion than recognition comes across her face.I grip her wrist lightly,than turn back to Brennan.
I drop her wrist "You two"I point at them"Are matching outfits,that's cute"I smile.Lucy groans,Brennan's cheeks heat up and I take that opportunity to grab Lucy again and take off.
I drag Lucy into an empty hallway,standing by some doors "Why did you pull a shark?" She questions
"Brent,he asked me to lunch" She smiles at me
"Today?" She questions,I nod
She checks her phone "That's in an hour and a half "I nod
"Do I look alright?" I question her.I was wearing patterned flowing shorts with blue and green,a blue crop top,a blue diamond necklace,and navy blue vans.
"I think your fine"I groan
"Hey you asked for my opinion,I gave it to you"she shrugs
"I know"
"You don't have to impress Brent,he likes you for you"She interprets me,I sigh
"Your right"she smiles
"That's why I'm your best friend"I laugh
"I've seriously gotta go,thought.The Cross Country Coach wants to talk to me"I furrow my eyebrows.She laughs as we turn the corner
"She's trying to influence me to trying out today after school" she pauses "She was a student who raced for my granddad so" she shrugs
"Will good luck"she laughs blowing me a kiss than heading to the coaches offices.
Lucy's POV
"Come on Lucy,Your grandfather was my coach.Its the least I can do"Kelly,the cross country girls team says
"I don't know"I say
"Your grandfather always told me you wanted to be just like him" I sigh crossing my arms.
"Yea but this one?"I shake my head slightly
"You'll be fine,I'll train you even on privates if you want" she gets up from her seat coming around her desk
"Please just give it a shot?Come today to watch the tryouts and when you wanna join we'll start on privates" Her eyes holding hope.
