Chapter 12

Lucy's POV
I sit there,my body straight,my hands folded on my lap,staring into space.

He saved me less than 12 hours ago.What if we're to late.What if he dies in that surgery room.

Brent was hunched over,his right knee bouncing up and down constantly.To be honest it was driving me crazy.

Gabby was mirroring my position but less tense.I haven't seen Mr and Mrs Knight since they rushed in and left us an hour ago.

Cops surrounded the hospital perimeter,their stupid sirens slowing making me lose my mind.Half of the other station who weren't in their cars outside we're crowding the waiting room.

Mrs Johnson comes out.I tense up scared for the answer,Brent mirrors my emotion.

"Lucy"I nod,coming,out of my trance

"He's out of surgery"Brent sighs
"He has a sprained arm,two broken ribs and 12 stitches on his left arm,and three on his forehead,plus a busted lip"I can see out of the corner of my eye Brent running a hand down his face.

"Also he's in a coma"I nod slowly,Mrs Johnson closes her clipboard.My eyes trained on her

Gabby tenses a little "If Gabby hadn't had acted to quickly Brennan probably wouldn't be alive right"the three of us silent.

"You may go see him once his parents come out."Brent and Gabby nods.

Mr and Mrs Knight come out a few minutes after Mrs Johnson had spoken to us.They and Brent exchanged a few words,than Brent proceeded to Brennan's hospital room.

We say our goodbyes to the knight family.Gabby switches chairs now she's in Brent's chair.

"He's okay"I nod
"Why to him?why is it always him?" I question,Gabby laughs lightly

She shrugs seeing my face to serious.I watch as a few police men talk to Mr and Mrs Knight.

"You know now there going to have to look for a trade in pitcher"Gabby says her voice low,I give her a confused look.

"There investigating Daniel,since he did push Brennan.Everyone thinks Daniel did it because he wanted to be the star pitcher.But now I bet he's being kicked off the team"I nod

"Good,I hated him.He was nothing compared to Brennan,anyways"Gabby laughs.Brent comes around the corner,his hands stuffed in his pockets.

"You can go see him"He looks between us.I stand up,but I turn back around to see Gabby still sitting.

"Aren't you coming?"I question,she shakes her head.

"You go"I nod

The room was silent all for the annoying heart monitor.God it's the most annoying thing ever,it's deafening noise can drive me crazy that I'll probably check myself into a nut house.

I grab Brennan's left hand.Cold.

"Well Gabby and I were saying that Daniel will probably be kicked off the team.But uh the team is going to need another pitcher for the tournament"I pause

"There's so many police cars outside with their sirens.I know how much you hate them just as me.You can uhh wake up and help me tell them to shut up"I sigh knowing it's not going to work.

"Please wake up.What you said outside of the school,I never noticed but I need you too.Brennan so wake up for me"I remove my hand from his wiping away my tears that had fallen.
He still remained silent, not making a move. I stayed with him and held his hand, talking to him-even though he couldn't hear me- until the Mrs. Johnson came in the room to tell me to go back home. It had to have been 30 minutes I got with him.
