( Brandice) Yooooo it's some fine ass females in Academy this year!

( Ju-Juan ) awesome bodied gals he barks at a girl going by... Auggy.. which ones you looking at. August, rubbed his hands together and smiled slyly. True enough, he could have had his pick of a lot of ladies... But one always seemed to catch his eye... Just something about her....

( August) tries reaching in and grabbing for me) I move my shoulder right out of his grasp and kept walking... I was so sick of this boy and his antics I didn't know what to do. Oooohhhhh son... She dissed you. I slid into the chair of my first period class which I shared with him unfortunately....

( August ) sat right in the seat behind me since & no one else was in class because I had arrived 15 minutes early... Aye Why, you got your panties in a bunch today? 

(Me) August, don't start...

(August) sugar, what I'm starting, I just asked you a question?

I whipped my head around causing my bun to unravel and fall to my waist.  I was frazzled and annoyed by his antics. I just got up and grabbed my books. Moving to the way back... I regrouped while he eyed me as some of the other students came in.... After this class we wouldn't see each other again until lunch. If I timed it right that would the last time.

I decided to make a detour to the library instead of the lunch room for the hr break.... But only 15 minutes had gone by before he discovered my  hideout... I put my book up to hide my face when I spotted him, but it was too late. He leaned down in my ear... Lemme talk to you for a minute. I was about to protest but the librarian gave us a glare... I slide my chair out and grab my stuff we walk to the end corner of the library...

(Me) what's the urgent message?

( August ) he reaches for my face but I slapped his hand down. Talk!

(August) why are you so f**king mean?

( me) cause I don't throw myself on you like all these other chicks?

(August) nah, he smirks it's like you're especially disgusted by me and I don't know why.

(Me) I picked at my finger momentarily feeling like if I revealed the truth.... He would use it against me.  Isn't your fan club waiting for you? I turned and walked off.... The next day was Friday and on Friday my mom always had hella ish for me to do because she worked for a private nursing firm from Friday - Monday

Jade, don't forget you supposed to be babysitting tonight  at August's moms house from tonight through Sunday whenever she say you can go. Yes ma'am. Mind your manners and do as she say girl. Yes ma'am.

I went upstairs and brushed my hair one last time. School went by quick...thankfully. I  headed home showered and grabbed my

Overnight bag. I walked the 4 blocks to his moms house and rang the bell.

She came to the door with the biggest smile on her face carrying his youngest niece in her arms. Come on in sweetheart. The other rascals are running round here somewhere. I have to run to the market but I'll be back in a hour or so. The girls have eaten. They just need baths and Kay needs her hair braided by tomorrow. Yes ma'am. She kissed my cheeks as put the baby girl in my arms.

She locked the door behind her and headed on the road. Kay Kay, Chay and Amaiya were pretty much angels unless they were under the influence of their uncle (August) but then again he had that influence on most female folk.

I headed up the stairs to the playroom to see if they were in there but no dice.... Grandma's door was closed and the princess's room was empty that mean they could only be one other place... I took the second  short flight of stairs up and knock on the cracked door... It's open... He said.

JADE! The little girls screamed. He looked up and smiled. Hey.

(Me) I just came to check on the girls, you guys need anything? No ma'am said the girls. What about you August?

(August) oh you speaking now? Ha ha    I back out the doorway and head back down the stairs to start on Kay's hair. She has a lot and it was gonna take a minute. I finish it just in time for baths and stories in French and Spanish. While the girls watch my little pony in August's room.. I change into some joggers and a t shirt for my pj's. It was awkward to be there and around him when we fought all week... I went to the kitchen for a glass of water...

His mom had come and gone again she had a night job too.  August came down about an hour later and. Plopped on the couch next to me. Your babies sleep. I'm going to get something to eat, you want something... I look down then up at him. I don't have any money.

(August) I ain't ask you for money, you want something? (Me) sure... He leaves and comes back about 30 minutes later. I wasn't in the living room I went upstairs to put the girls in their beds.

(August) come up when you're done.

I come up and he say you gonna stand there or come in... I don't bite. I sit on the edge of his bed and eat slowly. Thanks for the food.

(August) no problem, you do so much for us.

I put all of our garbage in a bag and take it out the room. He follows me around the house like at school. I turn around with my back to the sink. He lands his hands in my waist Jade you got a boyfriend?

(Me) ask your girlfriend.

(August) okay, I will? He pulls out his phone and a minute later mine chirps girlfriend, this is your boyfriend you're taken...

When I look up he was smiling and leand in to kiss me... I let him but quickly pulled away...afraid the little girls might see. He looks over his shoulder and says cutie babies ??? No one replies or comes running and he pulls me back in his embrace. His lips warm and soft, parting mine and exploring my tongue with his.... I felt my hands caressing the back of his neck... Breaking the kiss he says you better not be throwing me a bunch of shade Monday...

When Monday rolled around he was the one that was flipped inside out.... Back to his same old antics... Tuesday and Wednesday was more of the same. A few weeks later all anyone could talk about was the party down at glamour hall.... EVERYONE was going... Normally, we had good weather on Fridays but something wasn't sitting right... I sat on my porch watching all the couples pass by. I looked at my phone and scrolled through IG...

( August) and the cutie babies had posted earlier... My phone rang it was Chantelle, August's cousin. Girl, where you at you coming to party right... I hesitated no, I have to study. Girl you is a d*mn book worm... Gonna be a doctor or something... I hear rustling in the background and then August voice for a split second. Chantelle comes back on the line come thru for us. Next time Chantelle... She says wait hold on but the line goes dead.... I spent most of the night hearing the faint sound of music coming from the hall... At some point I had dozed off in the house by myself since my mom was at work.... Around 4:45am I hear pounding on the window. Downstairs 

I rub my eyes and yawn peeking slowly  through my glass.... I scramble out of bed.... I pull the locks and August stumbles all bloodied into my arms incoherent they..... Omg!!!! Ahhhhh he' f**king gone ahhhhhhhh. I pushed the door locked  and he collapses in my arms... What happened August, what happened? Ahhhhhh he's just screaming and grabbing me they killed my brother. HES GONE!!!! He bawls into my chest and I hold him for hours soothing him as much as a 17 year old can.

My shirt was soaked with his tears and his sleeping had been fitful and eratic..... My phone had 20 missed calls a mixture from my mom and

His and Chantelle..... I sent them all a text saying August was safe in the house with me.... Chantelle said thank God after he shoved us in the truck no one could find him....his mother is at the hospital Mel passed on she sniffles into the phone. Yeah August told me. I'm so sorry. My tears dropped on his head... She says we'll be in touch but don't let him leave.

I made him as comfortable as possible and kissed his forehead....
