35. The Right Thing

Abigail Devon's POV.....

For the next two days we travelled to all the famous places in Venice. I was enjoying thoroughly. I didn't have a care in the world. I felt free. This was the best time of my life and I never wanted it to end but like everyone said all good things came to an end so was our little trip. We were heading back today after creating some memorable memories of my life that wiould always be imprinted in my heart.

Eugene showed me the time of my life. He never for once let the smile left my lips. He was a true gentleman and I couldn't ask for more. He was the best thing that ever happened to me. He was my life, my hope, and my ray of sunshine. I was one hell of a lucky girl that I got to meet him and he chose me when he could have chosen any girl he wanted.

When we landed back, I was more than ready to leave the plane and go meet my friends. This trip was non-planned and so sudden I didn't even get to inform them. Jed must be mad at me for eloping like this. He still thought that Eugene would break my heart even after everything he had done for me and he knew it very well. He was just not ready to accept that Eugene was the one for me.

"Do you think they will like the presents we brought for them?" I asked Eugene as soon as the car left the airport behind. His driver had come to pick us up and we were sitting at the back of his car, my head resting on his shoulder.

"I am sure they will love it after all you chose them and your choices are always great. You can take me for an example." He said flirtatiously, winking down at me. I playfully hit his chest but didn't bother to correct him because it was the truth. He was by far the most beautiful choice I have ever made.

He dropped me off at my place before he went to his own, to freshen up and get ready, saying he would pick me up after an hour to leave for the hospital. We both were tired from the flight but he didn't want to wait any more to meet Julie and Chris, and I agreed with him. Julie's health was our main priority for now and I knew how much he wanted to be by Chris's side. I wondered how he managed to get me out of the country leaving Chris behind.

Like promised, Eugene came to my doorstep after an hour and I was already ready by that time. Grabbing all the gifts we brought with us for our friends, we headed towards the hospital.

"Oh, my god! Look who's here? The Runaway couple." Selena exclaimed, running up to us and tackled me into a rather suffocating hug. Beside us, I could feel Eugene rolling his eyes.

"Runaway couple? Is that what you are calling us now?" I asked amused as I pried away her hands off me to take a breath. She didn't waste any second to tackle Eugene too in a suffocating hug. I chuckled sauntering towards Jed, Scot, Chris and Julie. Engulfing them all in a hug, I sat down in a couch joined by Selena a minute later.

"Yea, Jed has been calling you by that name since you told him about your trip over the phone." She informed sending a wink at her boyfriend's direction. A faint tinge of pink coated his cheek. "But, my personal favorite is AbiGene." She gushed, clapping to herself.

"AbiGene?" Eugene and I both said in unison, amused.

"Let me guess, you are the one to come up with this name. Aren't you?" Eugene said already knowing the answer.

"Of, course! Who else?" She said with a proud smirk. I shook my head at her, suddenly remembering the gifts we brought. With that, I handed them their gifts and everyone were really happy. They loved it and Selena and Julie squealed like small child.

"Thanks for the gift, Abbie but do me a favor and from next time tell me beforehand when you two are leaving so that I would have to worry less." Jed said with a small smile.
