      "Solace, any one of these animals could be a monster attack waiting to happen," Nico was on edge. He and Will had gone to the zoo, but due to that fact that Will still refused to let Nico shadow travel, they had to take a bus. Thanks to security, Nico didn't have his sword.
     "Calm down, Death Boy," Will kissed Nico's cheek, quite to Nico's annoyance.
     "Solace, I don't like being touched," Nico glared.
     Will chuckled and pointed to an exhibit with crocodiles."You know, they remind me of you. They're solitary animals. You like being alone. . ."
     "Which Athena camper told you that?" Nico grumbled.
     The two of them continued to walk through the zoo for a few minutes in silence. The silence was interrupted by a shrill scream and a chorus of deep growls, louder and deeper than a sound any normal animal could make
     Nico was certain only one type of creature could make that sound: Hellhounds.
     Nico charged towards the sound without a second thought. Many of the zoo visitors were shoved aside by the thin, pale boy with an angry expression.
     "Nico! Nico!" Will called as he desperately tried to find his boyfriend.
     Will tripped and fell to the ground. The same fearful scream from earlier pierced the air again, but was followed by the angry cry of a very angry son of Hades.
     Will stood and raced towards Nico, pushing past fellow visitors. When he finally found him, Nico was standing in front of a girl—she was about 10 years old—with a small army of skeletons next to him. Nico glared at a group of ten growling Hellhounds.
     "Nico, didn't I tell y—" Will started.
     "Stop being so overprotective!" Nico screamed. "If you would've just let me shadow-travel us here, I'd be able to fight with my sword! Now take the girl and protect her!"
    The skeleton warriors Nico had summoned attacked, but Nico still looked like the deadliest thing in the entire zoo with his eyes as dark as midnight and his mouth twisted into a dark scowl. Nico leapt into action, distracting the Hellhounds and dodging their attacks right before a skeleton stabbed them.
     After all ten of the vicious monsters had been killed, and Nico was covered in yellow monster dust, he spun around and noticed that Will had stayed rooted in one spot.
     "Solace, I gave you a simple order," he glared.
     Will forced Nico into a tight embrace and was immediately punched in the gut.
     "What part of 'I don't like being touched' do you not understand?!"
     Without another word, Nico grabbed Will's arm and the girl's arm before he shadow-traveled them to camp.
     Nico shadow-traveled back to the zoo, took his sword, and returned to camp.
