Shiori pov:

"Did you want some tea, Aizen san?" I asked as I stood a few feet from where he sat. He was smiling slightly like always, resting his chin in one hand.

The one thing that made me feel a little awkward was that he wasn't talking. If he wanted tea or anything else, he would usually tell me immediately and send me off to do the job. But today, he was unusually silent. He had even sent off Tousen san so that the two of us were alone to talk.

A few silent minutes passed before he finally spoke. "I would like to enjoy your company for a while. Come sit down, Shiori." He smiled a little wider as he looked up at me. I twitched, clenching my jaw slightly as he watched me.

Great....now he wanted me to sit on his lap again?

"Um....can we ask one of the Arrancar to get me a chair?" I looked around uncomfortably as I spoke. Aizen san merely chuckled and I tensed feeling the pressure in the air increase a little.

"Are you saying you want to disobey my orders? You are here to do what I or any of the Espada ask....I hope you haven't forgotten that." Even though his voice sounded teasing, there was an obvious threatening hint to it.

I managed a sheepish smile rubbing the back of my head. "N-no, I don't mean to refuse....but I'm kind of heavy. So sitting on your lap will make your legs go numb. I just experienced it with Starrk sleeping on my lap and its not very comfortable! I'm just trying to be considerate...and...." I shut my mouth, stopping my unnecessary dramatic blabbering when he narrowed his eyes slightly.

"Never mind...." I mumbled out with a sigh before walking to him and sitting down sideways on his lap.

"That wasn't so difficult, now was it? Besides, you're not heavy. In fact you're rather light." Just like last time, he brought his arm around my waist to pull me closer to his chest. I cringed before settling down in a comfortable position.

We sat in silence yet again and I took the liberty to just look beyond the balcony. I stiffened when I felt his hand near the base of my neck touching a few strands of my hair. I had tied up half of it in a ponytail while the rest of it fell haphazardly over my shoulders. I clenched my jaw sitting absolutely still so I wouldn't embarrass myself with any sudden movements.

"Shiori." I turned to look at Aizen san to find him watching me. Our faces were mere inches apart and I could feel his breath on my face. His eyes held some sort of gentleness and as I had observed several times before, they were distant. They were searching for something, restless and uneasy. Yet when I looked at his smile and the confident posture even as he sat, it contradicted so much with what I saw in his eyes.

Perhaps I really was just imagining it.

"There is something I had brought here from the human world and I believe that you know what it is. After all, Kurosaki Isshin was looking for you at your place of work to return it to you." He broke our eye contact as he reached to the side for something.

When he held it to me, I blinked. "Oh? Its my cell phone. I left it at Isshin san's house before I came here." I reached out to it but he moved it away from me. I looked at him curiously only to find him with a not-so-happy look on his face.

"Cell phone? And what is that?" His voice had turned sort of serious now and it made me nervous. I dropped my hand to my lap, clenching it as he tightened the grip he had around my waist.

"It's a communication device....that we use in the human world to talk to people." My voice was softer than I intended it to be because of the unusual slight frown Aizen san had on his face now.
