Shiori pov:
It had barely been a few hours since the incident with Aizen san. I had run away after responding to a hesitant kiss that he had given to me and after giving a lot of thought, I had finally decided what I wanted to do. I had stopped wandering around undecided in the matter.
I had spoken to Kaijin and found him to be a rather funny and adorable Zanpakuto. He had seemed quite huffy on our first meeting so I was actually expecting him to bite my head off when I tried to talk to him the second time. Instead, I had found him pouting and sulking like a little kid.
After we gave our meeting a new start, we talked about all kinds of things. Most of them involved Kaijin complaining about how unfair everything in his life was. He complained a lot about Sai and how she always feared him and ignored him. He saw no other way out besides threatening to burst out of her as if she herself was losing control. At least then, she and the other shinigami were constantly aware of his existence.
In the end though, Sai spoke to him and said that she hated him. That she would rather have any other Zanpakuto besides him. He had really felt angry and hurt, although he wouldn't confess the latter, and so he decided to go all out. In the end, it only resulted in Sai having to be killed and stopped from causing an extended rampage.
I did feel kind of bad for him. I mean, it actually is Sai's fault for not acknowledging her own Zanpakuto. No matter what power the Zanpakuto has, its still a part of you, right? In the end, if you treat your Zanpakuto with love and respect, they would care for you and the people you want to protect in return too.
Kaijin was actually kind of cute when he opened up. I even got used to him refusing to call me anything besides Peanut.
He also told me about his abilities as my Zanpakuto. He was a destructive type, being able to use lightning as his main power. Besides that, he had the ability to read minds and understand subconscious emotions just by looking through a person's eyes. He was a very sensitive Zanpakuto and he was able to decipher even the most closed off person. All the hate and fear that the shinigami had for him a hundred years ago made him feel annoyed and frustrated.....which is why he ended up losing his cool and destroying half of Seireitei in Soul Society.
That was a little of a hit to my pride actually. It showed that my ability to understand people wasn't just because of a skill that I had or because of studying Psychology. It was because of one of Kaijin's powers.
I also recall one particular fact that I didn't find very comforting. Kaijin had spoken about Aizen san as well; the kind of person he was when he was still in Hueco Mundo. Most of his description was something that I hoped wasn't true.....but coming from Kaijin, I had to believe it.
>>Flashback
"So you're saying Sai knew Aizen san when he was still in Soul Society?" I furrowed my brows as Kaijin suddenly got serious.
Up until now, he was just complaining about how unfair everyone had been towards him, not even bothering to try and talk to understand that he actually wasn't a bad person. As a shinigami, it was Sai's duty to reach out and understand her Zanpakuto. When she herself didn't care, how would anyone else?
But when Kaijin mentioned Aizen san, the whole atmosphere around us gotten dark and tense.
"Yes. Sai knew Aizen when he was still a Lieutenant in the Gotei 13. He'd been doing something really strange ever since then. Whenever Sai saw him with the former captain Hirako Shinji, he didn't look like himself at all. There was always something strange about him....like it wasn't really him at all." I narrowed my eyes slightly. Wasn't him? What did that mean? If Sai saw him with her own eyes, it had to be him and no one else, right?
