Not Letting Go
*Claire's POV*
I sat next to Niall's bed waiting for the nurse to come back and say 'we have a match for
Addie, everything will be alright.' We waited and waited for her to come back in but
nothing. They said it only took an hour at the most to get the information, it's been
three. Addie is lying in her bed nearly lifeless, it will be matter of a few hours she may
not here with me any more. I don't want to think that but it may become a reality. I
looked over at Niall that was not asleep but was lying in his side letting tears fall.
I walked to his side and gently grabed his hand and held it tightly not wanting to let go of him.
"I'm sorry Claire," Niall whispered in a cracking voice.
"What are you sorry for?" I question him.
"For Addie and Ash. It's all my fault our little princess is here struggling to breathe. It's my fault Ashton has a broken leg.
It's my fault you, the lads and my family are here giving blood, and it's my fault you're crying," Niall said in between tears.
"None of this is your fault, you can't blame yourself on all of this. You didn't mean for
this to happen you just have to believe Addie will be fine that someone will be a match.
Someone will be a match Niall you just have to--" I was interrupted by knock in the door and blonde popping her head in.
"Hello Mr. Horan and Ms. Cullen. We have the results of the blood tests. Would you
like to know them?" the nurse said.
Like that was even a question to ask the parents of a child that is slowing dying.
"Yes!" we both scream.
"Okay well the only match is you Mr. Horan, but you are unable to donate until you are checked out if the hospital," the nurse said giving us the best news we can hear.
"When am I able to be checked out?" Niall asked desperate.
"In about an hour or so," she replied.
"I can't wait that long, I need to get out right now my little girl is dying! How would you feel if YOU are the only one that can save her fragile life!
That you aren't there for the child when they need you most! How would you feel?" Niall yelled at the nurse from the bed.
He started to break down into tears. I tried to wipe them away with my thumb; he just interlocked our fingers together so I couldn't wipe the salty tears away from the cuts in his face.
"I will go page a doctor and they will take your blood. She going to be okay," the nurse replied. I could see her eyes starting to get watery.
As she walked away into the hall we couls hear talking. Then the doctor came in hook Niall to machine that took blood, in return Niall gave a weak smile. No one smiles when
you're getting blood taken. He didn't stop smiling, nothing could stop it because he knew Addie was going to be okay, she was going to go home with us some.
She is going to see us soon. She is going to wake up in pain but that will go away. She going to wake up clueless and don't know what's happening and asking a million questions a moment.
