Ch. 16
Zoo
*Niall's POV*
As we parked and got of the car Ashton was scared of something, I don't know what but
I wanted to protect him, Addie and Claire. Ashton's eyes had fear in them. I don't know
what to do. Claire had payed and we got green bracelets and put them on your wrists.
We also had a little red wagon for Addie and Ashton sit in. As I pull the wagon along
the path, Claire was walking beside me. I look around and see all the animals but I also see
couples walking hand in hand and walking with their kids.
I could help but wish that was me and Claire. She slowly got closer to me and
interlocked are fingers. Addie and Ashton are in the wagon and are getting along rather
well.
"Niall! Look it's elephants!" Addie says pointing to them.
"I see them! Do you like elephants Addie?"
"I love them they are my favorite animal," she shouted with glee.
"You want to know what my favorite animal is?"
"Yes! No I want guess it!"
"Okay then guess away!"
"Is it a........elephant, like mine?"
"No guess again"
"Umm a penguin or a panda?"
"No but a panda is your mums favorite animal!" I tell her.
"Niall how do you still remember that?" Claire asked me a bit surprised.
"It was in year 10 and we were talking about the zoo and animals and we went around
the room and said our favorite animal and you said panda," I tell her remembering that day.
"And you said Giraffe is yours," she said as she smiled at me, I was looking into her
eyes there was this little sparkle, I leaded in to kiss her just to be interrupted.
"Niall your favorite animal is a giraffe!" Addie interrupted us.
"Addie, why do you call your daddy Niall?" Ashton asked her, he was really confused.
"He's not my daddy he's my mommy's best friend."
We walked around a little bit and stopped for ice cream then when back to the car. I
buckled Ashton in and Claire buckled Addie in. We drove back to the house and it was
getting late so we brought the kids in and put them in their bed. I stayed with Ashton till
he fell asleep, the I when the check on Addie. She was asleep her hair was in front of
her face. She looked so peaceful, like an angel. I walked to the side of her bed and
kissed her forehead and told her goodnight before I could leave Addie was moving
around.
"Niall?" she asked still sleepy.
"Yes princess, what's wrong?" I asked her.
"All the other girls in my class have a daddy how come I don't?" she asked confuse.
"You do have a daddy, he's up there watching over you, his is always with you," I said pointing to the sky.
"But I want him here next to me, I want him to play princess and have tea parties with
me like the other girl," she continue. Her expression was heartbreaking.
"Addie it's going to be okay please don't cry," I say while wiping her tears away with my
thumb.
"Niall, can you be my new daddy?" she asked with a hint of hope in her eyes.
"I would love but only until your mommy finds someone that loves her as much as I
love her," I respond, because honestly that's all I can offer her.
"Why do you love my mommy?"
"She's perfect, her smile, her personality everything about her."
"What about me? Do you love me, as much you love mommy?" Addis questioned.
"I love you just as much darlin'," I let her know.
"I love you to daddy," she said, making me feel complete and happy.
