I went over to my closet and pulled out my favorite dress. Taking off my clothes, I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. I stood in front of the mirror peering through my own reflection as if it wasn't there. Turning to the side I sucked in my stomach. My ribs stuck out and beneath them my belly caved inward. I've never felt skinny but I knew that being the opposite wasn't true either. Seeing myself standing there in the mirror brought me back to when I would go to the doctor with mum. The doctor would always frown and tell me all the problems. I remember just turning my hearing off like it was a light switch and trying to look concerned at what he was telling me. Then I'd stand on the scale and he would shake his head, mother would put her hand over her mouth and let out a gasp but I would just smile. I never believed what they said about me having a disorder, I just saw it as self improvement.
I am doing a lot better now though. I eat a ton more than I used to but every once and awhile that guilty gnawing feeling comes back. I've actually gained enough weight that I just reach the healthy mark, which I am very proud of. And the best part is that I have tits and an ass again, as weird as that may sound but damn I used to have no figure at all. Sure I was skinny but who finds a pole attractive right? Just then I saw James in the doorway through the mirror.
Coming up behind me he put his arms around my waist. "You're beautiful." He said kissing my neck.
Hearing him say that meant the world. With James, I've never worried about feeling not good enough. He always made me know that he will always love my body no matter what.
"I was waiting for you handsome, I need you to zip up my dress." I said coming out of his embrace and slipping on my dress.
The dress clung to my body tightly. James slowly did up my zipper.
"Damn.."
I turned around. "Oh you like it, do you?" I said running my hands down my own body.
The dress was black, sleek and short coming up to above mid thigh. It was low cut yet tight, making my cleavage pour out the top. I put on a pair of black high heels to match. I flipped my head over and ran my fingers through my long wavy auburn mess of hair. The only good thing about wavy hair is it looks good without doing pretty much anything to it. I did my eyes up with black eye liner and silver shadow making sure not to make the line too thick. Smothering my lips with the finishing touch of a deep raspberry lipstick, I looked in the mirror thinking that this was as good as it gets.
"I'm ready when you are babe" James said.
The clock had just turned 11 pm when we pulled up to the address Taylor had texted me. The house was huge, rich parents gone for the weekend I was guessing. Tons of cars filled the long driveway and the sound of music pulsed the air. The sick feeling I had felt earlier started to come back. I gulped and held on to James' arm as we walked towards the house. Flashbacks started to cloud my head.
"Hey look, there's the boys!" James said pointing to a lounge/bar area.
Walking up to them I saw their mouths dropped. Claire hit Matt and James snickered a bit. The only one who didn't react was Cody. Making eye contact, he sat just staring blankly back at me.
"James, I wouldn't have let her out of the house looking like that" Connor said making his eyes wide. "someone might steal her from ya by the end of tonight."
I guess they were all surprised because I usually don't dress up like this but I didn't think I looked that good at all. It is a big difference though from my usual tomboy like appearance: no makeup, baggy shirts, pull-over hoodies, skinny jeans or shorts and whatever sneaker-like shoes I could find.
"You look amazing." Claire said giving me an awkward smile.
I couldn't tell if she was being genuine or her comment was sarcastic.
