Staying Strong (Sequel to The Two of Us)

Chapter 6

*Nate's Pov*

"Hi dad." I heard my little sisters soft voice causing us to both turn her direction.
My dads facial expression softened at the sight of his daughter.
"Hi sweetheart. How are you?" He asked softly.
"I'm fine." She replied.

"Bella....listen, i'm sorry. I know i hurt you and your brothers but i was lost i didn't know what to do and i know thats not excuse but...i just...it took me a while to come back to my senses. I know i should've never let you guys go. All three of you are so much like your mother and it hurt me she wasn't there i didn't think i could do it. But i love you and i need you...all of you you." My father said in the verge of tears.
"Oh daddy. I love you too." Bella ran towards my father and they embraced each other tightly.
"Dad i love you too." Benji joined.

I turned to Y/N and saw her smiling tearing up a little. I walked over to her wrapping her in my arms kissing the top of her head.
"It's okay baby don't cry." I cooed.
"I'm sorry i just get emotional." She smiled and wiped a tear away.
"No no it's okay, it's okay." I cooed and kissed her.
I looked up and noticed my father looking at Y/N with confusion and curiosity.

"Well you're pretty small for someone who's about to give birth. Aren't you like eight months already." He said.
I looked down at Y/N i knew remembering the loss of her first child affected her.
"No dad Y/N had complications and we ended up um...loosing that baby."
"And you got her pregnant again, damn son way to go!" He clapped enthusiastically.
"Dad! Thats not appropriate." I exclaimed in disapproval. I knew it was making Y/N uncomfortable.
He took a hint and quickly changed his behavior.
"I'm so sorry Y/N. I didn't mean to offend you." He apologized.
"Its fine." Y/N half smiled.

"No its not i truly am sorry. Im sorry to all of you for not being a good father i want to fix everything between us. You guys are the only treasure i have and i was stupid to let you go. Nate, Y/N, i want to be part of my grandchild's life. I want to watch him or her grow up and teach your other future kids things you guys can't. I want them to say 'hey lets go to grandpas house' and i want you all to be there and i'm never gonna let go again."
"Dad i want you to be there. I want you to watch our kids grow up and i would do anything for mom to be here too." I said.
"Me too...i miss her every second of every day." Bella said hugging my dad, Benji joined the hug and i couldn't help but join in as well.

*Y/N's Pov*

I smiled as Nate and his family hugged. Lizzy came across my mind and i wish we could fix things too-
"Y/N come join the hug, you are a Garner after all." I heard Nate's dad say.
I smiled and joined their embrace. Im not a Garner yet but i know soon i will be. I'm beyond happy with my life along Nate its better than anything i could have ever imagined.
"Y/N Garner. It sounds perfect babe." Nate said and gave me a tender kiss.
I felt my phone buzz in my pocket, it was another text from Lizzy.

If tomorrow doesn't work its fine. You can tell me whatever works for you.

She really was trying this time. I did make Bella a deal and she went through with it now i have to do my part. It can't be that bad right i mean at least she's trying now. 
I quickly sent her a text back.

Yeah tomorrow's good :). 

Everyone sat down on the couch and i made my way to the kitchen. I opened the fridge and grabbed a yogurt and some grapes i was craving.
"Everything alright babe?" I heard Nate ask. I didn't even realize he was right behind me.
"No yeah everything's fine. I was just craving some fruit." 
"Baby you know you can tell me anything. Whats bugging you? I can tell somethings wrong." Nate said rubbing my shoulders looking deeply into my eyes.
"Its really nothing Nate. Lizzy just wants to meet up and i promised Bella i would give her a chance." I said with a sigh.
"Y/N you don't have to if you don't want to. I'll talk to Bella about it she'll understand."
"No Nate it's fine. Part of me actually wants to see her i want to see what can happen i mean i got nothing to loose right?" I asked a bit unsure.

"You're really brave for doing this baby. I'm so proud of you" He comforted. I gave him a sly smile and kissed his lips. "Here let me help you with those." He said and eased the bowl of grapes out of my grasp. I smiled and grabbed a spoon for my yogurt and we made our way back to the living room. 

"So what do you guys think?" Nate's dad was asking the second we walked in.
"I think its an awesome idea dad." Benji smiled widely.
"What's an awesome idea?" Nate asked concerned. 
"Nate dad said we can move back to LA with him."
I looked over at Nate who had a disapproving look on his face. 

*Nate's Pov*

"Dad are you sure about this?" I asked. Im still not 100% sure if he's stable or even ready to be in the position to take care of my siblings again.
"Nate of course i am. I understand you have your doubts but i know i can do this. I love you guys and I'm not gonna let you down again. I promise."
I was a little resistant towards his decision but i cant let Benji and Bella down or even myself and my child we need my dad in our lives.
"Alright." I simply said. A smile formed on his face and he pulled me in for a hug.

"I wont let you down again son." He said then turned to my siblings. "And you two, start packing again. I'm gonna call your uncle John in the morning and tell him we're coming over to get your stuff. Both of you are moving back home."
"Oh my gosh i love you daddy." Bella said hugging him tightly. "Oh my God i need to text all my friends im moving back." She jumped and came over to give me a kiss. "Im gonna go get my stuff ready i love you all."
"What about you Benji? Aren't you excited?" My dad asked giving him a pat on the back.
"Well what about uncle John and the friends i made there?" Benji asked.
"Son you can still keep contact with them. And we'll go visit your uncle John more often if you'd like."
"Yeah that'd be awesome." He smiled widely. "I'm gonna go get my things ready too." He said and ran back to the guest room he was staying in with Bella.

There was silence for a couple seconds until my dad decided to speak up.
"So you two, any wedding plans?" He asked looking at me and Y/N. Ugh Kirk. I turned and saw Y/N frown a little.
"Well we haven't really put much thought into that. We're both so young the baby was kind of unexpected and it has just been a bit of a roller coaster." Y/N answered. My heart hurt a little at her response.

"But we will get married. Soon. Very soon." I started as i wrapped my arms around her. I looked down and locked my blue eyes with her gorgeous orbs. "I don't want her to be stressed right now during her pregnancy. I want everything to be perfect for Y/N because she deserves the best"
