Chapter 17

*Y/N's Pov*

"Nate stop it! Haha" i giggled as he was tickling me and making funny noises in my ear. "Nate seriously you're gonna knock something down and get us in trouble."
"We won't knock anything down babe don't worry." He smiled and kissed my cheek.
"Noah you're daddy and I are always this crazy, you'll never be bored with us."
"Haha babe what else do we need?" He asked and i looked down at my list.
"Um well we got everything for the spaghetti, but lets take some fruit mmhm I'm craving some apples." I smiled.
"Alright to the apples it is" he said and we made our way there.

"So green apples or red apples?" Nate asked.
"Mmhm i really think this far ahead umm maybe-"
"Y/N?" I got cut off by a familiar voice. I looked up at Nate for reassurance and he was tense. I knew he was keeping what he wanted to say inside to not cause a scene.
I turned around and saw the person who i once did everything with but, at this point in my life meant nothing to me.
"Hi." I said showing an obvious annoyed and forceful smile. You know the type you give to a bitch.
"Hey Y/N how have you been? Oh is this your son?" Lizzy said smiling.
"Um yeah." I said, Nate took a hint at the awkwardness and rubbed my shoulder comfortingly.
"I uh texted you earlier, i saw your Instagram post that you had your baby a couple days ago and I wanted to see how you were doing." She smiled.
"I'm good yeah."
"So is this your baby?" She lit up. No shit Sherlock its my baby.
"Yeah this is Noah."
"Aaaw hi Noah." She cooed.
"So what are you doing here?" I asked. The last time I saw her we didn't really establish any sort of friendship or anything. I made it clear that I wasn't gonna try in a "friendship" with her or whatever. She lost my trust and that's something she could never gain back.
"Um well i'm actually here with my boyfriend, he's getting a Sandwich at the Deli here and I'm buying some groceries for my mom." She said. I was unamused, she mentioned they were always on and off and i can't, i really just don't understand why she puts up with that shit.
"Oh well, we were just leaving." I said coldly. I had nothing to say to her.
We started walking away when she spoke up again.

"You know if you just met him, you'd see he's a great guy." And there she goes again.
"And why would i want to meet him huh? He didn't even know me or anything about me when you let him text me to take drugs to solve my problems! How can you love someone that low?! Tell me Lizzy! Were you really that desperate for love that you let a stupid guy you barely knew break the friendship we had for six years?! Seriously! He insulted me and you took his side. You told me to trust you, i did, and look at what happened...Now i told you, if you want at least a friendship with me learn to keep relationships separate, cuz' you can't always have everything in life. Goodbye" I kept my head held high and left her in awe making my way to the cashier to get out of here.

I knew i caused a small scene but i didn't care. Hell i don't know the people in this store and chances are i'm never gonna see them ever again. So whatever.
Nate started putting the groceries in the conveyer belt. I closed my eyes and took some deep breaths to keep my cool.
Maybe I was wrong having a little hope that she changed but she hasn't.
"Babe." Nate cut my thoughts. "Lets go" he said. I hadn't even noticed he finished paying.

We made our way to the car. Nate opened the trunk and started putting in the groceries and i carried Noah to set him up on his baby seat.
"Oh i love you so much my precious baby boy. You're not gonna grow up to be an asshole i'm gonna keep you in check." I said as i locked the seatbelt.
"Y/N! Wait!" I rolled my eyes, hearing her voice again.
"Hey i think you've done enough today okay." Nate said getting in front of her so she wouldn't come near me.
"Okay I'm stupid. I know. I'm sorry. But, i really do want our friendship back. I'm going to keep my relationship and you separate. I shouldn't of brought him up. I just thought you would maybe change your mind. I don't know but, Y/N I miss our inside jokes and how we would do crazy weird stuff cuz we were just stupid together. I just want us to go back to that."
"Yeah i know." I said closing the back door of the car.
"Can we try? I promise not to let Jacob or anything mess us up again."
"You know what Lizzy. Actions speak louder than words." I opened the door to the passengers side and got in.
I looked down at my phone and texted my friend Becca to distract myself and not look over at Lizzy.
Nate got in the car and didn't say a word knowing this moment just put me in a bad mood.

I wish we didn't see her. I didn't even bother to open her messages.
Nate started driving and i just closed my eyes trying to calm down.
At this point i just wanted to get home already and nap.

I opened my eyes at a red light and when it turned green Nate made a left turn instead of going right to where our apartment was.
"Nate where are we going? I just wanna go home now."
"We will. I'm just gonna make one quick stop to do something. It'll be really quick babe i promise."
I sighed.
"Okay." I groaned a little and closed my eyes again.

In just a couple minutes i felt the car come to a stop and i opened my eyes. We were at the beach.
"Nate what are we doing here?" I asked sort of annoyed because i just wanted to be home already.
"Just trust me." He said and got out of the car running over to get Noah out.
I got down and waited for Nate to lock it.
With one hand he carried Noah in his carrier and held out his other for me to hold, which i did.

We walked across the sand until we found the perfect spot to sit down.
"I know seeing her stressed you and i know the beach and sunsets relax you and i just wanted you to relax a little bit." He said and wrapped his arm around me. My heart melted that he cared so much about me i just wanted to cry. I held Nate tighter and hid my head on his chest.
"Nate i love you so much." I cried.
"Ssh it's okay."
"I know it's okay. I'm okay because you're here."
